I think a late night comedy show yes can do what they want. It is not a news show at all.
Second, he never said the shooter was maga, all he said was maga is doing everything they can to make sure he is not maga which is exactly what was done.

Kimmel pissed off too many viewers, who stopped watching, which lowered commercial timeslot values, which lowered revenue, which reduced profit, which led to affiliates in conservative areas to drop him from syndication.

You're beyond stupid if you think Trump called ABC and said to fire Kimmel. Are you aware that Trump sued ABC and got a $16 million settlement? ABC would never do Trump a favor. Unlike broadcast Networks, Fox News on cable and CNN, MSNBC, ETC; ABC Affiliates and the Network get a license to operate from the FCC. They are more regulated as to content and need to make a profit. Kimmel is down 80% in viewers in the key demographics that ad agencies buy in the past 10 years. When two Affiliate owners controlling 32 stations drop your show you lose a huge amount of revenue. The Market, not Trump, has spoken. The local affiliate represents local markets, that's how free enterprise works. Change your tampon.
