They act like executive privilege is a new thing. Hell, when Thomas Jefferson was asked to produce executive documents during the treason trial of Aaron Burr he refused. But instead of immediately impeaching him Congress allowed the Supreme Court to make a ruling and Jefferson then complied when he was ruled against as to providing documents. Just follow the process that has been used since the beginning of the country.
