So Israel is trying to defend Palestinians now.

So Israel is trying to defend Palestinians now.

"No one supports Hamas......."? Every hostage released in the initial stage has repeatedly said that the Palestinians in Gaza are the exact same as Hamas. Review the video of the female hostage being driven through town in the back of a pickup truck. The truck is surrounded by masses of people screaming at her & pounding on the truck. Through blocks & blocks of the population. Hamas was voted into power, legally, by GAZA's population.
