Sounds like you have never led people before.

I watched his speech and it was desperately needed. I am seeing some of these soilders in Germany walking around over 250 lbs and not muscle either and still in thier 20's. I get in a sense that a man in his 60's is not going to be fit as they were in thier 20's ,but some of the Senior leadership does let themselves go pretty bad. I also like the part where he told them to stop pushing these ridiculous agendas. It is a waste of time and resources.

In any organization the leaders should be held to the highest standards. You can’t let the leaders be fat and sloppy and expect them to be good leaders.

What are the physical standards to be president. Biden showed that there are mental standards, but I'm sure that you were okay with that.

This is a pretty easy topic to see who has actually led people before. Of course we have the board liberals shrieking and defending fat pigs. While those that have led know the importance of the leaders having the highest standards.

Statistically speaking, it IS possible for you to make critical military decisions at the exact same time that you’re not a fat disgusting tub of lard.

If you’re working for the military, .Gov isn’t paying you, I’m paying you, and that includes your healthcare. The healthcare cost for a fat disgusting tub of lard is, statistically speaking, about ten-fold more than an employee at weight. And it’s about fifty-fold more for a fat disgusting tub of lard who wants to change genders on my dime.

So do it for me. I’m not asking here.

100% no!
Height-weight regulations are published for each branch. Everyone in the military is aware of them.

Fat generals imply those regulations are only suggestions.
It's a terrible message and poor leadership.

It absolutely deserves to be called out publicly so that those actually abiding by the rules see that the rules apply to everyone.

Ah the sheep.....

The tattoos are Christian, if you visit our national cathedral in DC you will see the same one inlaid in the flooring of the alter.

The signal nonsense has been debunked more than the Russian hoax.

His drinking. Ulysses Grant's commanding officer often used that as an excuse to degrade Grant for fear he would surpass him. At one point, after yet another letter to Lincoln, Lincoln replied:

You should ask him what brand he is drinking and supply it to the rest of your staff since he seems to be the only one winning

Say you're a fat, chunky male or female admiral or general. Life and performance evals have gone your way a long time. Then your boss tells you, you have to lose weight and exercise more vigorously. That's a daunting task unless doc prescribes some weight loss drugs which is actually an admission of defeat. Ands then you have to start doing pull ups.

So I guess when you’re in formation and the Sargent is chewing you a new one he should talk to you in private instead?

The vaunted Soviet National Chess Team started requiring PT in the 1950s. Probably due to Alexander Alekhine passing out drunk in a world championship match in 1935. (He regained the title a year later and held it to his death. The only champion to ever do so.)

I spent 24 years in the military.

The generals I served under lost Iraq and Afghanistan while telling us the win was "just around the corner". Today's generals were field grades back then and did their part in creating illusions of progress to benefit their own careers.

The generals who lost Iraq and Afghanistan then all retired and got lucrative contracting jobs.

Not saying there aren't some true public servants but as a whole frick these guys. The best leaders who were honest and cared got bounced at O5.

Respect is earned. and fat arse generals and admirals have destroyed any respect they earned by not giving a shite about their appearance. Which leads to fat arse troops and sailors.

That's the direction they have been getting.

Your ex-military friend sounds fat.

Eh. I know Generals who are straight beasts, but, again, people like the stereotype so he's playing to the crowd. Does it make us more lethal? Meh. It's another minor issue that could have been handled with a damned email.

Could have been an email. So could all the pep talks, all hands, and division runs where these GO's enjoy the photo op and then spout some nonsense about their imperatives or leadership style. Not a bad thing to see them get a taste of their own medicine. They had a pre-sunrise formation to bus over there - absolute gold.

Talked to a buddy of mine who said the ones that needed to hear it were there. Those who didn’t, weren’t. TIFWIW
