Getting rid of Fentanyl will not drop the demand for opiates. Its a multi billion dollar market and will never die.

It can be solved, there has to be a desire to solve it.

Slow will be disregarding a lot of factual information these next 4 years, because he's super smart and knows how everything works. Everyone needs to just settle in. We've not yet seen the condescending, over the top goon that he can and will be.

Now stop being emotional and agree with him immediately.

relatively small amount? 10 million lethal doses.

I'm aware of the lethality of fentanyl. The issue is "what's the actual reason for the tariff?"

RELATIVELY was used to describe the small amount coming from Canada as opposed to the large amount coming from Mexico. Therefore, it makes no sense to have the same tariff imposed on Canada as Mexico....IF the reason for the tariff has anything to do with fentanyl.

It's not just meth and heroin addicts. A family member of a friend of mine OD'd from weed laced with fentanyl. He didn't do other drugs, just the casual weed smoker. Who knows if it was intentionally or accidentally laced.

A family friends 17yo straight A student took a Xanax given to him to help him sleep that was fake and laced with Fentanyl. Dead.

Why are liberals so stupid?

serious answer? They've given up on logic, human nature, results, and reality in general. They are all in on narratives, emotions, optics, and other things that get their base (and just enough of the middle) terrified and angry enough to keep them in power. They are playing the long game. Eventually, America will be stupid enough, brown enough, and dependent enough for democrats to never have to worry about losing an election ever again.

You would have to end demand with severe penalties for possession

If you listen to what he says, he tells you. There is probably a thread on this board that would let you in on his thinking straight from his mouth.

Border security is only one issue for the tariffs. We are getting trade fricked by both these countries. It’s part of the larger picture.

Don't forget that until around October of 2024, Canada was still allowing China to get around USA tariffs on Chinese steel by shipping it there first. China and Canada both benefited from it.

Apparently it's OK for a trade partner like Canada to do that to us and how dare we retaliate.

Are you aware of the concept of punitive punishment? Can you not think of any reasons why it would necessary to punish a wealthier country with higher costs than a 3rd world country in order to get the same desired response?
Are you dense or just obtuse?

I'm honestly trying to follow you here. What do you suggest Canada do. Have customs checks for people LEAVING Canada? Is the United States responsible for everything that is smuggled from the United States into other countries?

43 lbs does not signal "do nothing"

No, you’re right it doesn’t.

It signals you better find a way to stop it or there will be consequences. Because the USA is back baby and you better get adjusted pretty quick.

Correct.

There are no border checks from Canadians for entry into the USA.

First, let’s identify what is smuggled out of the United States into other countries?

I never hear anybody complaining about that. If it was a thing it would be all over the mainstream media.

When I think back to all the pills I took in my late teens and early 20's this is pretty terrifying. I have no doubt that if I was born 20 years later, I'd be a victim of the opiate epidemic. I'm lucky that most of my drug use had ended before opiates burst on the scene.
