Well I didn't give you any part of that. But if your anger changes a bit I can see you jumping on the democrat socialist/populist train. Because they will extract a pound of flesh from the remaining boomers.
Who decided we needed to build 36 trillion in debt with no plan in sight to lower it? I've never heard a solution discussed. And I damn sure know Obama, Trump, Biden and Trump again have increased that debt. I'm sure Scott Bessent can tell us why it does not matter.

No, bailouts of these institutions should be outlawed though

No but if they get in power and and start confiscating your wealth, I wont raise a finger to defend you

These boomers are evil threads always fascinate me.
First, the reality that tens of millions of young people are throwing in on victimhood is instructive and disappointing. The country would be much better off if being a victim wasn't all the rage and super duper virtuous.
But it's the economic arguments that are funnest. Younger generations are lamenting their downtrodden existence while climbing over each other to buy $1500 Taylor Swift tickets.

Interestingly enough I just had lunch with an associate who said that his wife who does work for the government just had $250,000 off her student loan debt removed because she has worked the appropriate length of time

To fault an entire generation for the sins of government and globalism is overly simplistic and hyper-emotional.

This is not a boomer issue it is a government issue who screwed everybody by giving colleges and people all of the free money in the world to do what they want

What's to explain? The quotes don't give enough information to argue for or against.

"basically on board" with democratic socialism
Ok, what does this mean? What is he on board with? What is he not?
quote:
Tucker Carlson shocked viewers Wednesday night when he praised 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren’s economic plan, which she called A Plan for Economic Patriotism. After spending nearly four minutes reading an excerpt from Warren’s extensive plan, Carlson described a few of the principles Warren lays out, expressing agreement.
Ok, he agrees with a few principles from an excerpt of Warren's entire economic plan. What few principles? What were the principles he didn't agree with?
Your entire argument is based on the idea that if a person agrees with someone on something, then he automatically supports everything that person stands for. It's an argument without any thought.

Is that why the debt is being acquired?
Take social security as an example. Here is what AI has to say…
quote:
Baby boomers have contributed more to the Social Security system than the present value of their benefits, largely because earlier cohorts benefited from a pay-as-you-go system and added benefits for spouses and survivors, as explained by CNBC. While individual experiences vary, the generational differences indicate that the boomer cohort, as a whole, will have paid more in than they will receive in benefits
Social security is 21% of the budget, and we see that the Baby Boomers are net contributors to it.
quote:
Health insurance: Four health insurance programs — Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace health insurance subsidies — together accounted for 24 percent of the budget in 2024, or $1.7 trillion. More than half of this amount, or $912 billion, went to Medicare, which in June 2024 provided health coverage to around 67 million people who are age 65 or older or have disabilities. The rest of this amount reflects the federal costs of Medicaid and CHIP ($626 billion) and ACA subsidy and marketplace costs ($125 billion). Both Medicaid and CHIP require states to pay some of their total costs. In March 2023, Medicaid and CHIP provided health coverage or long-term care to 93.9 million low-income children, parents, older adults, and people with disabilities. That was significantly higher than the 70.9 million enrollees before the pandemic because of temporary pandemic-related coverage protection, which expired in April 2023. With its expiration, enrollment dropped to 82.8 million by March 2024 and is likely to fall further, though projections are highly uncertain.
So there is 24% of the budget, and do the Baby Boomers take a disproportionate share of the blame for this. Probably a little because of Medicare, but everyone will eat up their share of this when they get old. The Baby Boomers just happen to be the old ones right now.
Military? Veterans benefits? All Americans benefit from this equally. This is another 13% of the budget.
The rest of the budget is for programs that are going to young people as well as old people.
Our problem is that we spend too much, but that spending is being consumed by younger generations just as it is by Boomers.
quote:
America stands at the edge of the most dramatic shift in personal finance ever measured—a generational transfer of nearly $124 trillion in assets over just 25 years. According to a wealth transfer report from Boston wealth management firm Cerulli Associates, published in June 2025, a combination of demographic and economic forces will see a record amount of wealth move from baby boomers and older Americans to heirs
I have an idea. If young people think we Boomers have screwed them by running up $40 trillion in debt, let’s just tax their inheritances. Instead of $124 trillion, they’d get $84 trillion and the national debt would be wiped out. Deal?

I think a LOT of people drowning in student debt are the ones who dropped out and have all of the debt and none of the reward.
Or those who went university the whole time at huge cost instead of starting at community or tech.
Not everyone is drowning- some people invested wisely in their education, others invested poorly.

You are being played like Jimi's guitar, just before he sets you on fire.
Getting in power and confiscating "boomer" wealth is the plan, my man. The method is to evolve your mindset to exactly where it seems to be now. Then when silents, boomers, and X's pass on, their money will pass to Uncle Sam, not to you.
That's the game afoot. You're going to be a patsy at that poker table?

comparative lifestyle to the generations before them
what an asinine thing to say. Most homes are larger and come with far more amenities than homes the boomers bought. Most didn't have AC, a washer and dryer, were under 1800SqFt, didn't have a two car garage (cause Boomers didn't own 2 cars), no granite countertops, smaller bedrooms, closets, etc. There's nothing comparative about it.
Boomers may have done a lot of damage, but the spoiled, soft youth of today wouldn't be caught dead in a boomer's "first house". So spare me. Homes are more expensive today because standards of luxury have evolved adding to the cost. Not because the boogeyman boomers screwed everyone behind them.
And quite frankly, I think Tuck throws this shite out there just to play you frickers. And yall lap it up like its craft beer.

Agreed.
It strikes me that the early struggles of adulthood used to be a badge of honor... ramen, red hotdogs, trundling down the road with a gascan, deciding between tickets or a late rent, all kinds of stuff.
Now even the very shadow of adversity is harming the very souls of over pampered young adults.

Like many things from my perspective, I blame the Left. The Left, particularly as we see it on campuses across the country, is astute at dividing us and creating victim/oppressor pairs. They have done yeoman's work creating the "boomers stole our prosperity" thing. Even young conservatives have bought it hook, line and sinker.

Bingo.
How great would it be if that mindset vanished overnight? Everything is viewed through some "lens" or another to great detriment of our society.
