You left out the part about him having a metastatic brain tumor a couple of years ago.
You can make the case that he was a failed POTUS, and prone to making ridiculous political statements - but the peanut-pickin' sumbitch will always be aces as a human being in my book.

Carter is probably one of the best former Presidents out there. Not a good President, but a great former President. Better than the rest who sit on their asses, charging hundreds of thousands for speeches.

Disagree with his politics, think he gave cover for a number of shady dictators that held elections, but I admire his work with Habitat.

I watched Jimmy Carter's interview the other day with Neil Cavuto and honestly it was very good.
He didn't sound like a complete sky screamer and gave Trump some tips that I thought was worthwhile and he wished Trump the very best and was rooting for him to succeed and said that democrats were playing with fire about impeachment talk.
Jimmy Carter treats President Trump better than Obama, Clinton and the Bushes ever do.
If Jimmy Carter dies while Donald Trump is in office, he should do everything he can to eulogize Carter and assist their family like a state funeral, lending Air Force One to the Carter family for flights to and from Georgia and using the Blair house to stay in DC.

Glad he finally found something he is effective at. He certainly was the worst modern president until Obama heard someone say that and responded with "hold me beer"

It's a charity and they do it with private funds and volunteer efforts. Also as former Presidents go he's pauper. He's written a few books but he's not one for the speech circuit and from what I understand has the smallest Secret Service contingent.
Not a fan of his Preisdency, he hurt the US status in the world and Iran was almost unforgiveable
However, he was the only President in the 20 th Century who did not dispatch US troops in offensive military operations
Also, the only President to have graduated from a military academy - Annapolis
