Closing the border was excellent. BBB is another deficit disaster. DOGE was basically just theatre. He's not really an R or a D and likes to elevate the power of the executive branch so congress pretty much hates him.
Bessent is great. Bondi and Noem were just awful picks.
If he can replace Thomas and Alito with a couple of solid justices his grade improves.
But his term essentially ends in about 8 months when next congress is sworn in with a D controlled house so time not on his side.

D-
Points on immigration. Everything else, he tried to solve with executive order knowing what would happen. He pulled out all the stops going after opponents of his big beautiful spending bill, but hasn't done jack that I can see to pressure the GOP who have stymied him on trade, electoral reform, federal bloat and other points he pushed. Plus, he landed us in another war, the economy wasn't great before that and now it's worse and will get worse. After the mid-terms, he'll be even more of a lame duck.

Lol no it is not.
GDP grew 0.5% in the 4Q of last year. Thats the worst 4Q in 14 years.
Unemployment is currently at its highest mark since Covid and well higher than it was pre-covid.
Housing sales remain at 30 year lows.
Inflation is back with a vengeance. We are printing money again. Or as we now call it "buying back debt".
Not to mention the labor force participation rate has fallen 70 bps since he's taken office which equates to like 2.5M Americans.

Exactly the economy sucks. But that’s not all Trump’s fault that is decades and decades of crap policy. Were $40 trillion in debt we are on the Titanic.

What has he done to address the debt issues if it truly is an "issue"?

Nothing, that is why I cannot rate him high on the economy... This country is in trouble. 40 trillion in debt and climbing is the biggest threat this country faces... We refuse to change ways.

Year 1 - A
Year 2 - C (so far)
Year 3 - ?
Year 4 - ?
B overall so far. Trending in a much better direction than 2 years ago. The next president needs to have similar policies to keep the trend going in the right direction.

D.
Closed the border, inflation has slowed some, some USAID and career bureaucrats cleared out, and his work on affordable medicine have been great.
Iran war, greater deficit spending, no legislation passed so everything is a few pen strokes away from being undone, instigating pointless infighting, nothing to help affordability, tariffs are a mess, by botching the Epstein file release he actually made it a bigger deal, and screwing with legal immigration (a negative for me, although I know this board doesn't consider it so).
We are probably better off than if Kamala won, but that is a low bar. Feels more like treading water than swimming

This is accurate
We have had a lot of wins though they don’t get coverage but becoming Israel first really set us back and the DOJ has been a colossal failure.
I put a lot of the blame on Suzy. She isn’t made to make admins, she is a campaign dawg

There are a few ways I see this:
1. Anyone giving out grades like F is emotionally invested in Trump's decisions, like they are watching their favorite sports team. They are pissed he isn't running more, or passing more, whatever.
2. The "new media" personalities are angry because they can't influence policy like they believed they would -- many of these "personalities" are acting like they're close confidants or cabinet members who should be able to wield influence through their own talking points. (and we don't know the degree to which people have been corrupted by "sponsors")
The fake shite of legacy media's lazy, repetitive talking points sponsored by Pfizer or China or Soros or whoever -- gave people the impression that lock-step, unforced, unity somehow existed for the first time in recorded history.
Reality is -- everyone up in arms or whining about anything that doesn't emotionally align with their beliefs is normal.
Trump's foreign policy is influenced by undisclosed sources -- we neither know nor see what he sees. We don't know what kind of proxy war China or Globalists were waging on the US through Iran, Cuba, Venezuela -- but we do know human trafficking, unfettered immigration, massive fraud-- domestic and foreign, illegal drugs, wokeness/DEI are all being aggressively addressed and curtailed dramatically.
I'll take the open whining any day because it means people have a voice -- but the whiners should also look no further than the shite that is happening in the UK or Australia with open speech-- and they can remember how close we were to that through Biden and Kamala.
