The storm is expected to reach shore by early Tuesday between New Orleans and Mobile, Alabama.

Governor Greg Abbott has deployed Texas A&M Task Force 1 (TX-TF1) to Louisiana.

The Type 1 urban search-and-rescue team will consist of 80 personnel, six boats, and four canines.

"As our friends in Louisiana prepare for Tropical Storm Sally, the State of Texas is ready to assist in response and recovery efforts," said Abbott. "I thank the members of Texas A&M Task Force 1 who are acting swiftly to help our neighbors in Louisiana, and I ask all Texans to pray for those in the path of this storm. Our neighbors in Louisiana were there for us during Hurricane Harvey, and we will be here for them as Tropical Storm Sally nears their shores."

Texas A&M Task Force 1 is one of 28 federal teams under FEMA’s National Urban Search and Rescue System and is one of two statewide search and rescue teams under the direction of the Texas Division of Emergency Management.

When sports are involved, aTm can go play in the road.

In all other aspects of life, y’all (and all Texas boys) are good in my book. Hopefully they aren’t needed and maybe y’all can pass through to MS and AL if that’s where it goes.

Yeah. He's swampy, but sometimes even the swamps message can serve a good cause when it suits the political agenda.

Another thing that Abbott has done is he told all of the precincts that cut police funding that he would freeze their property taxes. We will see how he handles Austin. Kinda believe he's all bark and no bite on that but I'd love to see it.

They can get right to work after the 2 week quarantine at the state line.

I had no idea that the TAMU System Board of Regents changed the name of the Task Force from "Texas Task Force One" to "Texas A&M Task Force One" back in 2018.

Learn something new every day.

Anyway, these guys are GOOD at what they do, but I hope you Cajuns end up not needing them.

Don't think he can do that on his own AND, property taxes are to high already in most counties. He's part of the problem.

He is just looking to poach the few remaining jobs we have in Louisiana. Sneaky Texas.
