Didn't he just build an expensive new mansion somewhere? Someone should ask him if he plans on putting in low income housing right next to his new place.

A lot of people predicted this would happen, but it wasn't that hard to predict. I wonder if Newscum has proposed any low income housing near the Beverly Hills high roller neighborhoods?

Modern regulations and permitting standards have been suspended for these projects. This applies to any building permits applied for within the fire area in the next seven years.

Adam Carolla mentioned the new septic systems were expensive AF.

If true, that goes against what you’re saying.

That's specific to Malibu and roughly 300 homes along the PCH. The likely plan is going to be converting that area to a sewer system, which many have wanted for a long time, to keep them from having to spend that money on septic systems. That equates to maybe a little less than 10% of the homes and commercial properties destroyed or damaged by the collective fires. The sewer system will probably be funded by the state and Fed grants if it happens.

Here's the thing, though......the rebuild is only setting it up to happen again. Malibu and parts of the Palisades burn on average once a decade. Which means, you're rebuilding a house knowing you have damn near a 100% chance of dealing with fire to some degree in the first decade you live there and every decade after.

Then, there are people who will argue "burn your brush" to a fault. Looking at a detailed satellite view of this area will do two things for you. 1. It will show you just how built up the liveable areas are, and 2. Just how inaccessible the surrounding area truly is. Rx burning in those areas is next to impossible. You can't get engines on most of those ridges and hand crews have to basically mountain climb to get to it. Even if you could put fire on it, that Rx burn would be right next to hundreds of homes in any given valley. Add to the equation the limited number of viable burn days in a given year for that area. It just ain't happening.

And, about those valleys......most of them are aligned with the prevailing winds when a Santa Ana wind event is rolling. That feeds the fire to the built up areas. The Palisades fire was driven by 80-90mph winds. It started less than a quarter mile from a neighborhood and homes were involved within a half hour of the first fire report coming in. Within 40 minutes the fire was spotting (in other neighborhoods and commercial areas) up to a mile and a half out. Go look at the overall map, the final progression map, and understand that 85%+ of that fire's spread occured on the first night. Most of the other spread was firing operations in front of the main fire. They weren't fighting a "wildland" fire after the first 10-15 minutes.

All of that said, it just begs one question......why spend billions of dollars to rebuild? All you can do is wish them luck, because it will happen again.

It was easy to see. Democrat policies make for transparent results. Always the same, never let a crisis go to waste, or cause the crisis and profit off of it. Bet those that lost their homes and will have to relocate will still vote blue, though.

Will become? I'd say it and the entire western coast of this country's goals/aspirations do not jive with those of most of the USA.

So for all those residents at Palisades with insurance rebuilding their houses in Palisades, that’s now a moot point or they have to live next door to low-income housing? How does that work?

Wouldn’t put it past Newscum to use eminent domain to get the land cheap. All he need to do is build a public park within the low income housing and a school for the children.

This is what people need to be on the lookout for. It is very likely people are getting their land stolen from them w/out having any say.

Ughhh maybe he should take a look at high rise slums in shite-cago and New York. Completely destroyed and turned into drug and prostitution havens. Not to mention in Mexi Fornia it will end up costing billions and never open..
