I don't know anyone outside of immediate family that will care about feds losing their jobs. This is just deep state R's trying to protect the game.
We might as well rename the government to Enron, they don't create anything and are always trying to find a way to insert themselves between producers and consumers to make another buck.

Do they? People are idiots and the simpler message wins. The simpler message is that Republicans own all branches.
Republicans have literally voted for (and passed out of the House) the bill that would reopen the government with no democrat support. It's the dems voting no

Im not disagreeing with you. Im saying imagine trying to explain CR's to idiots and showing snippets of a complex worded bill to them vs the easy to digest message "Republicans are in control."

Try reading the Constitution for a change.
The Senate made a mythical requirement for 60 votes. Because it’s a rule….your statement is worthless.

True, but are they in full control if they need the Dems vote?
The main driver of this shutdown is Schumer is trying to fend off a primary from AOC

It's a wise decision. Furloughed workers are seen by the populace as victims caught in the political power struggle. To fire them during this time would not be popular at all. Currently Trump is winning the PR battle over the shutdown. No need to shoot himself in the foot. Take the win when it comes and then quietly dissolve their positions afterward when all eyes are elsewhere.
The whole point of voting for Trump was that he was willing to do the unpopular, but necessary, things to fix the government. I voted for him to cut government spending, knowing that meant people will lose their jobs, and I assume I'm not alone in that. Also, doubting Trump's ability to spin any story favorable is a terrible thing to do.

Again, not disagreeing with you. But that message isn't making it to normal people who aren't conservatives and following politics closely.

I called this last week. Bad optics.
You don’t want the spotlight shifted on you when it’s currently on the adversary.

What does any of that have to do with public perception of who is to blame for the shutdown?

How did Virginia vote in the last election?
Posted on 10/9/25 at 9:29 am to Bamatab
They have received calls from their donors and family members that are getting rich sucking off the government tit.

In a state like Virginia, for example, with scores of federal workers, you would be handing next month's Governor's election to the Democrat.
Didn't we just win major elections not too far back without even needing to give a damn about Virginia?
Some of y'all never learn...

Oh look, the Uniparty not looking out for Americans again.

If the shoe was on the other foot, dems would not think twice about axing conservatives off the dole.

do it .... just wait until the government is back open and has a budget. Then do it to achieve a smaller Federal government. Return powers to the States.

100% agree, and he has. Shouldn't we agree that it makes no difference whether he accomplishes the tasks by a silent garrote in the middle of the night or a claymore in the public square as long as it's the wisest choice given the environment. I for one am thrilled that he's learned the art of nuance. The 2016 Trump would have went bull in a china shop as he often did. The 2024 Trump is infinitely more effective because he realizes there's more than one way to skin a cat and sometimes it best done while everyone's attention is focused on a sacred cow.
