Ahh... what was that, that people like you told laid-off conservatives and factory workers during the Obama years?

Man, what was it they said??? Oh yeah, that's right...

$16/hr x 50 hours a week = $640 in regular pay and $240 in overtime.

$880 a week = $45,760. Not baller money but that level of loan debt should be manageable.

Now, if she has medical debt that's not her fault since you have no control over needing care and you have no control over the cost. But I bet she votes Democrat, which is why she pays a fortune for junk insurance. That's her bad decision.

Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy

She means occupational therapy assistant. An OT degree would absolutely be at minimum a BS. Most OT programs have moved to an MS.

Even still if she can't get a job as an OTA she is the problem. One must still be a quality job candidate. She must not be. There's a huge need for OTA's in home health.

First off. Refinance. Secondly, I used to think it was impossible too, but I kept slugging away and was done by 30, which by today’s standards is fantastic. I didn’t go crazy either. 350/month

I blame the idiots for getting the degree but also the university for having classes like this.

The ONLY acceptable source for these kinds of loans are the universities themselves. It THEY think what they are teaching is worth it for the particular individual, then let THEM fork over the money (withhold charging their tuitions and allow generous housing discounts) with the agreement that the graduates will pay them off with the profits from that fantastic education they are providing them.

They are more than willing to shell out garbage, keep marginal students enrolled, allow full time partying, so long as someone ELSE is paying their outlandish costs.

SCREW em - let THEM fund that play-pen.

I see her guidance counselor lied to her. She apparently has no business making decisions for herself- much less a LEGALLY disabled person. Yet another casualty of women’s lib. Should’ve learned to cook and clean. For a man. With a good job. Yet another mystery solved by impeccable hindsight.

The world needs HVAC, welders, electricians, plumbers and other craftsmen/women. Liberal arts and English literature ain't gonna pay the bills.

If you fail out from a diploma mill, I have no sympathy for you. If you get a degree from a diploma mill, but can't get an interview because they go for people from real schools, then I'll listen.

What the frick? You’re going to be an OTA and make $16/hr. What’s more, you racked up $85k for an associates degree?

None of this is my problem. None of it.
