Glen Greenwald is one of the last remaining journalists with actual principles and balls. May not agree with him on everything, but he’s brave and doesn’t give a frick who he crosses.

If the media had more Glenn Greenwalds and less Brian Stelters our country would be so much better off.

Our government will do all they can to murder Greenwald. This is not hyperbole. And the authoritarian leftists on this board, along with the MSM lemmings, will likely cheer if and when that happens.

Thus do we have the unimaginably warped dynamic in which U.S. journalists are not the defenders of free speech values but the primary crusaders to destroy them. They do it in part for power: to ensure nobody but they can control the flow of information. They do it partly for ideology and out of hubris: the belief that their worldview is so indisputably right that all dissent is inherently dangerous “disinformation.”

And they do it from petty vindictiveness: they clearly get aroused — find otherwise-elusive purpose — by destroying people’s reputations and lives, no matter how powerless.

GotDAMN! The excerpt above is both powerful, true, and damning.

I wish only this excerpt could be printed out and placed on every "journalists" desk, especially those he specifically mentions in his piece.

In short - mainstream news in this country is DEAD. Journalism and reliable reporting are DEAD. All we have left is the mass of information at our fingertips, and the will to research for oneself. Unfortunately, most aren't willing to do that.

Who’s the serial downvoter in this thread? I’d like to see you defend your position.

I know right. How can you downvote any of what Greenwald is saying? This shite from the media & big tech should piss off anyone who values free speech, no matter if your liberal or conservative. Without it we don’t have a country. That’s the real “attack on democracy”

He’s still smarting from being fired. Glen takes himself way too seriously and smokes too much weed

Greenwald is still calling them “reporters”, which is incorrect. They do not report news.

Calling them by their proper name might at least spur some introspection. They are propagandists.

He's right. The American people need to demand that the MSM reports the news not create it.

Greenwald gets it. He sees the writing on the wall, just like Pitbull in the video that surfaced over the weekend.

It’s interesting to see who’s willing to stand up against what big tech and big media are trying to do.
