Yes, I’m wrong. He was director until 76. I have always thought he was head for some reason. I’m not sure where I got that info. I have thought that for years.

He was once shown facts about being there. George was there when JFK died. He said he didn’t remember. He must have been shopping at Home Depot, saw JFK die, then mowed lawn. Lost memories because it was a busy day lol. We all accept it

You aren't the brightest star in the sky. He wasn't in any politics in 1963 other than part a group of Texas oil men trying to get legislators to listen to them that having a price cap at the wellhead was hurting our energy independence.

First, it shows that you know NOTHING of politics. The CIA post is appointive. Bush-41 was GOP, and JFK was a Dem. That fact ALONE should have caused you do do confirming research before posting this foolishness.
Bush-41 was in the oil biz in 1963 … and chairman of the Harris County GOP. He did not become head of the CIA until 1976, more than a dozen years later. Even then, he was not some spymaster. He was a POLITICAL appointee and served for barely a year, until Jimmy Carter was elected POTUS and appointed his choice.
Between Kennedy’s death and his appointment as DCI, he served in the House, ran for Senate, and then served in a series of appointed national political positions.

Reagan didn't have much of a choice the way I remember it. No one was predicting the landslide victory he would eventually win with. Remember Ole Ron used to be Democrat from out California/Hollywood way. Early on people were still skeptical of him (Or at least seemed to be leading up to the primaries in 79. Bush was a Core Establishment R they was slated to help Ron get across the finish line.
Fwiw I think G Bush senior would have made a great 2nd term president if he just wouldn't have let himself be forced into making promises he couldn't keep with regards to taxes.
