The laziest most spoiled generation every. They also want top brass jobs without putting in the work...then blame the Boomers. If they had any kind of common sense and work ethic, with a little drive, they could be in line for big positions when the dreaded Boomers do hang it up, which most have already. They want the fancy cars, big houses, boats, etc, then can't understand why they can't make ends meet.....I have zero sorry for them.

It's sad but somewhat understandable for a few of them. Housing situation has become brutal. In the 90s when I grew up, i could work a shite job, and as long as I put my 40 hours in, I was able to easily afford rent for an apartment. It wasn't a good apartment, but it was still something I was able to afford and allow me to live alone. In 00s, I was able to buy a house. Only had to put $3k down and mortgage was only $400 a month.

Gen Z is the first generation in U.S. history to regress in every foundational learning category. If you took their knowledge and weighed it against the amount of knowledge available to them, they’re the most mentally inferior generation in human history.

Extremely low interest loans had more to do with price increases. Some markets saw an average time on market of <24 hours in 2018 - 2020 (SLC was one). Supply is back up, but prices have not dropped back down even though interest rates are close to historic normal. No one is buying and is why I have one house too many today.

Y'all can pile on Gen Z, but they are trending more towards conservatism than millennials.
Both of my sons are in their very early 20s and are pissed we've been spending billions on bombing Iran while seeing the cost of living keep going up because of inflation, trillion dollar spending bills get passed with ease, Israeli influence over politicians, they laugh at the alphabet/skittles crowd, hate flock cameras, and are far more conservative than most douchebags here that hang onto Trump's every word like gospel.
They see a boomer controlled world that is self centered, lacks generational thinking, and believes in institutions.
As Gen X, I see the same thing. How about the boomers and millennials own up to being majority trash generations?

That and young adults simply don't want true starter homes, they want to buy what their parents have now. They want granite counter tops through out, custom trim work, solid wood interior doors, tall ceilings, high-end appliances, smart lighting and controls, etc. They want move-in-ready on their standards now because they have no intention of doing any serious work beyond the most basic maintenance for years to come.

Well that 2024/early 2025 discourse arc about the zoomers going trad went up in smoke quickly.
Been saying for years that 2024 youth performance for Trump was not indicative of anything. It was pretty obvious that the purple-hair-with-septum-ring type of zoomer just didn't vote in the last general election. There was an over-representation of the type of youth voter that always votes conservative.

Not really true. GenZ is fully embracing the thought of lifetime rental. Many do not wish to ever buy homes. They do not wish to be tied down by a 30 year mortgage. The people you speak of are a good percentage of millennials.

You seem to suffer from brain rot but just so you know its currently CHEAPER to buy a new home than to buy a refurbished because builders are buying points (as a form of rebate) because in *some* markets house stockpiles are overflowing but unlike normal conditions when pricing would actually come down quickly, these are not for whatever reason a smarter RE person would know than I.

I sold a house last year, took a long time as I wasn't in a hurry to sell and dealing with buyers exactly like the ones I stated. Finally closed with a young couple in their mid-20's, the guy worked in construction/heavy-equipment. Amazing how realistic attitudes actually seem to get people into homes.
