You are missing the point. Newsom is trying to win the Democrat nomination. Did this help or hurt? It helped.
Newsom is running a savvy marketing campaign and setting himself up for the nomination. These stances make winning the General Election a bit harder, but this will be long forgotten by then, plus Newsom knows that if he wins the nomination he will waltz into the White House if the economy sucks. And if the economy is strong he probably doesn’t stand a very good chance.

I started feeling that after they stole 2020, really started feeling it after they shot POTUS, and now I am pretty set in that belief. How are you supposed to have a functional “democratic” society when there is 0 trust between two parties

Why do these people hate America being exceptional.
We could semi coalesce around the foundation that makes the US the leader if the world.
But tribalism and power for groups and individuals have created this state of dysfunction and hate.
Doing what is right is not hard to do, making people feel accepted has created this shitty situation.
Some people are outcast and weirdos they need to be on the outside of the circle of trust.

2021-2025 was a bad time as far as partisan governance, but at that time the mask was still on somewhat, they had 1/6 as a pretense.

Well, that pretty much settles it. That's the greenlight on Stephen Miller. I pray his security detail is hyper-vigilant.
This isn't going to end until it ends in war. The world's foremost rational Christian conservative voice just had his neck vaporized by a 30/06 round fired by a radical alphabet leftist who became radicalized and programmed by liberal propaganda, and the answer is to double down on that propaganda.
This is going to continue. They've finally found a way to effectively turn brainwashed sheep into tools of political assassination, and I see no signs that indicate that it wasn't deliberate. In fact, all signs indicate that it was actually the INTENT.
