Why don't you address the numbers... oh yeah, bc you have no substance, just pocketed quips. Theres a reason you're laughed off the MT board and now this one

quote:

Diesel was 3.46 in Jan and spiked to 5.60 in May.... it retreated to 4.58 in July and has since rocketed to 6.29.

So 1.71 spike over the past 3 months and Ukraine is to blame for 1.11 of that.

So even without "Ukraine" we are at 5.18 for diesel which is still 1.72 over what it was in January, before the Iranian bullshite

Our refineries aren’t shutting down. We have plenty of oil here. You should know that being in Lake Charles.

Exxon shut down because of a power outage and a flood. They will be back online soon.

There is some truth there but a lot of context missing, which is a normal technique for communist talking points.

Same as above. They may not have gone aggressive on Iran but their other policies would increase energy costs.

Team Trump has a long term plan, unfortunately we won’t feel it for a while.

It was $5.05 under Biden. Trumps numbers are rookie numbers compared to those two.

Iran has almost zero to do with diesel prices.

We weren’t refining at capacity because of the crack spread over a year ago. Then the idiots in Ukraine attacked Russian refineries. It has virtually NOTHING do with Iran.

Well explain why Diesel prices were the following:

3.77 Jan 2024
3.56 Jan 2025
3.78 July 2025
3.48 Jan 2026
4.58 July 2026

If it spread over a year ago, why were the prices lower in Jan of this year, than a year ago... spiking once the Iran war began

The global energy markets were disrupted by our expeditions into Iran, thats why. Maybe not directly 1:1, but there is a correlation. We export more Diesel now than before the war, but prices are set by global markets and the War in Iran and Russia/Urkaine both impact that.

trump could end the ukraine war today and stop sending them weapons. he needs to stop both wars. both are hurting americans which is the only thing he needs to care about.

some of these folks will never admit trump can mess up. i voted for the man since 2015 primaries...but it's painfully obvious this term, especially the last 6 months, have been really bad.

The one thing under Trump's control is invading Iran. Without that gas would be a dollar cheaper per gallon. So yeah, it is his fault.

I’m talking about diesel.

The Saudis will get the pipeline back online. Gas will come back down in a few weeks. Besides, we are about to switch to the cheaper winter blend.

Did you know that Aramco owns a parallel pipeline to the East-West pipeline that can be converted from natural gas to crude if the Saudis want. (Edit) they already converted it to crude.

There are some political games being played here. I believe it’s tied to the midterms.

Iran has much less to do with all of this than you all believe.

I believe they stepped it up big time in the last year, but that's ultimately Russia's fault for invading in the first place. Ukraine has a war to win. If taking out a refinery is a method to defend themselves so be it. We would do the same.

it's humorous we will have one thread where we say things like "The US needs to go gloves off in a war, the fact we don't is why we don't win" but then requires another country to fight with a hand behind its back.

And diesel was climbing before that then it spiked when Ukraine struck Russian refineries.

We were warned over a year ago that diesel was going to go up by a lot. This was before Trump was even elected.

SFP, Your contributions to understanding why refineries are shutting down overlooks Exxon's reason for the major shut down this week. The power company had a total fault/power outage. When a site gets shutdown like that equipment is wrecked, column's are plugged up. Gotta take stuff apart, clean it up and restart.

Yes. And oil will come down once the Saudis fix their pipeline.

Diesel is not coming down anytime soon and it’s not because of Iran.
