so I guess the prosecution is saying the gun fell out during the chase, allowing Chow to see the gun, but it was never pointed it at Chow's son. Again. How could the prosecution possibly make that claim?

Any thief, white or black, deserves to be shot. Don’t want to get shot? Don’t try to steal shite. Even a $1 candy bar. You make the decision if your life is worth that. Not the person protecting their property

FAFO. Good for the jury. Restores my faith in Richland County.

you'd have to have a major death wish to try and steal shite from a Korean store owner.

Let’s hope this sets a precedent.

I get the humor, but this is legitimately the angle that bereaved mothers of feral thuglets from "the community" take. They fail to acknowledge that they let their lawless offspring down at every available opportunity.

There is a decent thread on reddit about the case and what it sounds like is the defense was successful in their explanation that, if Chow wanted to shoot the victim for theft he would have/could have done it much sooner and without the chase.
My understanding is that SC “not guilty” verdicts require unanimous vote so this was not just one rouge juror but a pretty solid repudiation of the prosecutions version of events.
Chow has been in jail for 3 years awaiting this verdict by the way. Wild to think about.

The fact that you explained it to us tells me that perhaps you did not get the humor.

It's funny in a vacuum. It's tragic when it's on the evening news.

Fatigue but with justice.

I’m not sure I’d go that far but let’s be real, if you’re 14 and already toting a loaded gun as a matter of daily course, you’re probably not long for this earth anyway.

Yes, of course. I'm sure Rick Chow just chased after the boy for shoplifting and shot him. Mmm hmm. Sure.

They want those money taps back open. Those Cadillacs bought from the last one are getting high in miles now.
This faux outrage is par for the course. 8 to 10 black kids die in black on black crime one weekend in a city? "I didn't see nuffin."
Thief gets lead poisoning? "Burn it down!! Black lives matta!!!!!"

Surprisingly not. It was actually pretty reasonable which led me to believe it was clearly the right verdict. Seems like several attorneys were chiming in.
I think this was it.

It is completely illogical to assume the store owner shot the kid if he never knew the kid was carrying a firearm
Kid pulled it, kid pointed it, kid lost his life over something stupid

Nice reductio ad absurdum you have there. Would be a shame if we saw through it because you're a hysterical piece of liberal shite.
