I think most Americans associate socialism with social democracy/welfare state capitalism

If you rephrased this as “govt control over means of production”, the numbers would be different

Still, it’s obvious we have utterly failed at educating young people on the virtues of free markets. Objectively, people aged 18-29 are less supportive of capitalism than any generation in our nation’s history.

That should scare you if you care about living in a largely free economy, because these people have voting power

Why do you never hear anything like "the extreme left has taken over the democratic party"?

Is it a failure or is it our educational system purposely teaching socialism and against capitalism?

Socialist deserve the equality they deserve.

The only thing that makes the lowest serf equal to the mightiest of Kings is death.

They want equality. Let them have it. At the bottom of a 6 foot hole.

We have all known this. You can't be a progressive without the desire to progress toward more and more government. It's kind of their whole shtick.

While I think this is something to hang around every Democratic neck this fall, I don't understand something.

quote:

For the first time in Gallup's measurement over the past decade, Democrats have a more positive image of socialism than they do of capitalism.

Yet, in 2016, the poll said 58% viewed socialism positively while only 56% viewed capitalism positively.

What am I missing?

I bet all those Asian villages wishes they were under a capitalistic economy post wwii. Don’t you?

Remind me..... how many murdered? How many missing? How many imprisoned?

Can you give me a rough estimation on number of villages that capitalism wiped off the planet in Asia post wwii to today?

Now..... let’s look at the other side of the isle and how that worked out over there... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm........

Healthcare in the USA:
- We rank 43rd in the world in longevity (80 years), just below the Turk Islands.
- Maternal death rate is at 14 per thousand, or 46th in the world. Worse than Saudi Arabia at 12.
- Infant mortality rate 5.8, or 55th in the world, behind even Serbia, Latvia, and Hungry.

In terms of health expenditures, the USA is highest in the world at 17.1% of GDP. Ignoring some Pacific Island groups, Sweden has the second highest expense at 11.9% of GDP.

These figures are all from the CIA factbook. UN figures shed an even worse light on the USA.

The bottom line is we spend more than anyone and just about every advanced country does a better job than our antiquated for profit system.

To summarize, we pay more and get less.

There is little question it's by design.

For nearly 100 years socialists have set their eye on controlling the media, education and the democratic party.

I think the plan was to turn the nation socialist without anyone noticing.

It doesn't scare me at all. I know that if the USA falls to socialism the USA will collapse. And I know that history proves that the United States of America is not the only country that can exist on this, our land.

If the USA goes, that's not the end of history. It is the end of the history of the USA.
