Yet, in 2016, the poll said 58% viewed socialism positively while only 56% viewed capitalism positively.

What am I missing?

How do Serbia, Latvia and Hungary measure infant mortality?

Democrats are like watermelons.

Green on the outside
Red on the inside.

If you are lazy or stupid, socialism is probably a better system for you.

Just wondering. Can you tell the class where the vast majority of medical innovation, new drugs, new procedures, etc come from?

Is it america? Or countries that provide “free healthcare”

Also, asking for a friend. Can you explain the difference in population, not just size, but make up as well between America and these other countries with “free healthcare”

Oh, and also. Can you also look maybe at the transportation mode of those countries compared to the US.

You do know that Europeans walk a lot more to get around right? I mean, a vast majority of their cities were planned before the invention of automobiles. They’re quite compact in comparison to the United States.

Just spitballing here.

Thete will be a split in the democratic party.

It’s unavoidable at this point.

Untrue. We count Medicare as a Healthcare expense while other countries do not. In most countries babies born before 25 weeks and die aren't added in the infant mortality rates but in the USA they are because or standard of care is just better.

It is the shitty food choices and lack of exercise causing obesity and a number of other medical conditions that is hurting longevity...

it’s obvious we have utterly failed at educating young people on the virtues of free markets
Considering the communists goals of overtaking education in the US is complete, why is anyone surprised by these findings?

Also how many other countries subsidize their poorest people and allow them to eat 600 dollars worth of processed garbage and oh pick up the medical bills. It's why our longevity and outcomes aren't the best and why we spend so much. Our problem isn't our for profit insurance. Our problem is the socialized aspects of our society.

Actually, gun deaths and car accidents drive up our mortality pretty significantly.

Also true. Chicago alone would dwarf most countries in gun deaths. IF only Chicago had strict gun laws.

Considering our capitalism has turned into Fascism, who could blame someone for turning to socialism as a viable option?

Healthcare in the USA:
- We rank 43rd in the world in longevity (80 years), just below the Turk Islands.
- Maternal death rate is at 14 per thousand, or 46th in the world. Worse than Saudi Arabia at 12.
- Infant mortality rate 5.8, or 55th in the world, behind even Serbia, Latvia, and Hungry.

In terms of health expenditures, the USA is highest in the world at 17.1% of GDP. Ignoring some Pacific Island groups, Sweden has the second highest expense at 11.9% of GDP.

These figures are all from the CIA factbook. UN figures shed an even worse light on the USA.

The bottom line is we spend more than anyone and just about every advanced country does a better job than our antiquated for profit system.

To summarize, we pay more and get less.

CIA World Factbook

Basically all of those numbers are within a certain MoE. Within that margin of error, inputs probably matter a lot more than expenditures, though it's obviously difficult for healthcare economists to ascertain exactly what the weight of each input factor is. ETA: Not to mention (as mentioned above) that for some of those statistics, how each piece is measured can vary considerably across countries.

Tell me which is the better healthcare system: that which raises life expectancy from 76 to 80 or that which raises life expectancy from 81 to 83?

Quality of healthcare has nothing to do with this.

Exactly. We have the most innovative and best healthcare in the world. Our country is only held down in statistics by generations of people that produce nothing yet consume more than most all while the Democrats want to give them more to consume. It's sickening.

I find it odd how he won’t tell us where the vast majority of medical innovation comes from.

It’s almost like socialist ideals destroy forward progress and innovation.

Weird how that works.
