I’m indifferent about gay marriage. I’m just tired of the whole pride month stuff and the push to make us accept all these extra alphabet letters and 37 genders

And Bidin actually won.

Wouldn't surprise me if it is true though, the devils presence is heavy in today's world.

Hollywood and the lib media is winning. They've been trying to normalize sin for years. People are stupid.

It’s not a matter of for or against in my mind. I am just almost completely ambivalent to what people do in their personal lives as long as it doesn’t harm others.

Funny because I’ve never heard the term “civil marriage” until you threw up garbage in the post I’m responding too. If you mean “civil union”, then you are being incredibly dishonest just to try to make a point.

“Civil marriage” is not a term of art or anything. Just describing marriage under the law to distinguish it from religious marriages. There is nothing dishonest whatsoever about that distinction.

They are, in fact, separate things.

What would be the constitutionally accepted basis for a state to deny consenting adults the ability to enter a contract?

If it’s what the people believe in that state and what they vote for it should not be forced to be changed . It’s simple move to a state that allows it , and stop trying to change the rules and make everyone accept what you believe inn. Because some people don’t believe in it , and that’s ok that’s American that’s what our country was built on .

I do.

I used to be against it then I was open to it but now I’m quickly moving towards being fully against it again.

When a woman gets sexually excited, her body’s NATURAL instinct is to lubricate her pussy to prepare for intercourse. A man’s a-hole doesn’t lubricate itself and that tells me everything I need to know about whether or not God wanted homosexuality.

Downvote away, I don’t care. I stand by my convictions.

I oppose the use of the word marriage for same sex domestic partnerships that are created by the state rather than traditional religious practice

There are a number of religions which now support, endorse, and perform same-sex marriages.

Perhaps it is not "traditional" but it is religious practice.

This is the problem with using religion to define government activity. There is no single religion, hell most of them disagree greatly with each other!

I’ve been married for 11 years. I’m lucky if I PIIHP three times a week. I don’t even ask to PIIHB anymore

Prefer the government NOT be in the marriage business. However, if gays want a biding contract between two of them of legal age allowing the other spousal rights under the law, then I have no problem with it...especially considering how badly heterosexuals have butchered holy matrimony, even as a devout Christian.

At this point in time, same sex marriages are protected by the Constitution. Allowing states to opt out of the constitution would fatally undermine the system and defeat the purpose of even having one.

I believe marriage is between a man and woman.
Should have allowed civil unions years ago and never uttered the m word. I do understand the legal partnership issues, such as health care decisions, insurance and inheritance problems of same sex partners.
Still believe that lifestyle is not sanctioned by religion doctrine.

It’s called “civil union” and it’s been called that for a long time. You are the first person I have ever heard use the term “civil marriage” to describe a “civil union”. I know leftist like to change language so I’m sure that what you are attempting to do

Good lord dude get off the semantics. I just told you that “civil marriage” not a term of art. It’s just the phrase I happened to use, and I clarified that I meant marriage in a legal context.

Whether you like it or not, same sex “civil unions” are called marriages under the law of most states.

My use of “civil” as an adjective before “marriage” was solely intended to make the distinction between what the law considers to be a marriage and religious marriage. I don’t even understand what you think i was “trying to do”.

I am not the person who decided to call same sex marriages, “marriages”. Under the law, that is what they are.

Couldn’t care any less than I already do. I’m not an advocate but think it should be an option.

I'm ok with them, and even everyone else, having civil unions.

I don't support gay marriage.

Doesn’t bother me one bit. Just don’t call yourself a tranny and try to race my niece at a track meet.
