At age 80

WTF is wrong with voters? Or are all elections fixed at this point?

Elections that result in a democratic victory are certainly rigged.

I don’t understand the concern here. Should people who are or will be in their 80s during their terms not be eligible for office?

Will the Governor do the right thing and appoint a Republican, or will he be a moron and hold a special election?

Eligible…sure. But the point being, people elected him just because he had a D next to his name and was the incumbent for 25 years.

I would say, I don’t think I would vote for someone to Congress, who’s served that long and no longer represents the majority of constituents.

By law he has to hold a special election.

On the bright side, he will still be eligible to vote in the midterms.

It's totally reasonable to suspect that 50.5% of Virginia just voted to give one party 91% representation in their House seats. Yeah, they got 64,000 "Yes" votes in the last 5 minutes to put them over the top.

Nothing to see here.

Please disperse.

Pretty much. I say cut them off at 75 or maybe even 70. But they can finish out their term if elected before the cutoff age. Nobody cares what the senior citizens think who won't even be around to see the effects of their policies.

This is not required in Georgia for US Senate seats, but you're saying it is for US House seats? Can you provide the Georgia law that states this?
