Franklin & Marshall College, a private institution in Pennsylvania named after Benjamin Franklin and former U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Marshall, is making plans to replace its two namesake mascots with one that is more “gender-neutral.”
The college recently established a Mascot Working Group to gather input and come up with three new mascot proposals to present for a vote to the campus community this winter, according to its website.
President Andrew Rich “has heard from students, faculty, staff, and alumni that we need a mascot that embodies our identity, brings energy to campus events, and builds a sense of pride and belonging,” the website states.

Were these students unconcerned before deciding to go to Franklin & Marshall College? Surely they were aware of the mascots before, oh, I dunno, deciding to go to the college. If these mascots bothered them all that much, why didn't they choose a college with what to them would be less offensive mascots?

I can't imagine living a life where you think having a "gender neutral" mascot will accomplish anything. Seriously, these people need help. I know the saying "liberalism is a mental disorder" started as a joke and just a way to shake your head in derision, but I am really starting to believe it's true.
