Yep. People here in the US and overall this board don't understand the situation. It's been coming to a French city near Pierre since the 1950's. Starting after WWII the French began encouraging the Algerians and Tunisian to come to mainland France to rebuild...especially Algeria because it was considered part of the Metropole....Algiers was as important as Paris or Marseilles.
Anyway you have the Algerian Civil War and its aftermath as well as a libertine consensus that starts to build during the 70's....all the while the French government was like, what's the gig deal? If you have problem with all of these immigrants, you are racist. Plus the country needed someone to build it and do the shite jobs. But the immigration got out of hand starting in the late 80s and the judiciary in France makes our liberals look like Nazis.
We like to say our woke policies are being exported. These French issues have been around since before we went to sleep.
