People think Disney is going anywhere?

People with kids have been paying attention. Disney can’t afford to get any more political than they already have been, especially around issues involving sexuality and children. Escalating this even more than they already have would be a huge mistake.

Then again, their CEO is a walking, talking mistake.

In Texas, your County Judges like George and Hildalgo in Harris County aren’t courtroom judges. It’s just the term the counties use, but think about them in the manner of Lafourche or St Martin Parish Presidents. They are the executive branch of the county.

So......a mayor?

Thank God Louisiana political corruption kept Disney out of St. Tammany or the traffic would have been 20 time worse

Nah mayor can only affect one city. Harris County is the 3rd largest county in the US and she has executive power over Houston, Humble, Tomball, Aldine, Channelview, etc.

Case in point: I have family that lives in unincorporated Harris County right outside of Crosby. Sly Turner (Houston Mayor) and the Mayor of Crosby have 0 bearing on them but Lina Hidalgo does. Harris County Police and Fire are their first responders, not a City government.

Prob plans to run for governor or mayor one day.

Mayor of Richmond or Rosenberg one day? Maybe. Not sure where he lives.

Doubt Sugar Land or Katy would elect him mayor. Definitely not Needville.

He’s too much of a leftist to win Governor of Texas. Then again, if all the fleeing California transplants vote like the majority of CA and Austin…who knows.

Yeah. Realistically, if you’re not politically involved, you’re only going to know who your county judge is if they’re an a-hole or extremely partisan. My county judge is mostly a non-factor in my daily life. He lifted mask mandates as soon as possible.

Harris County had a Republican County Judge for a long time while the rest of the county’s elections were Blue because he was entirely non-partisan. Wildly popular.

He lost in 2018 when everybody decided to vote straight ticket for Beto and brought in their current Judge who has been incredibly partisan.

That sounds like a problem that needs to be fixed.

No chance. Fort Bend County is as Democrat as Harris County.

Damn…looking at the 2020 Election results, appears you’re correct.

Went 55% for Biden, and I didn’t realize Pearland was in Ft Bend.

Sugar Land, Rosenberg and Needville all appear to have their act together, but voters better wake up or there will soon be exoduses to Brazoria and Montgomery Counties.

Also, he was one of the biggest mask Nazis in the entire state of Texas during the COVID season.

Just another County Judge in Texas trying to stay in the headlines. Covid gave them a taste of fame and power. It’s hard for them to slither away back to irrelevancy.

Smh. The residents of anywhere Disney locates to... are fricked.

That is a massive billion dollar corporation that will throw their weight around and demand state politicians bow to their will. Disney top brass in California will basically dictate what other states do on a legislative level. Rendering the winning voter's votes insignificant.

But what authority does a county judge to offer any of that?

It's different in Texas. Harris County is being run by a lunatic country judge.

To be honest I imagine all of us Orlando residence would love to see Disney leave and the opportunity that opens itself up for their employees to find other employment since we are shorthanded here.

I can imagine all of the lawn maintenance people putting Disney topiaries on everyone’s lawns and shrubs. I can imagine the lack of traffic on I 4.

The thought of them leaving is glorious one can only hope
