If only we could lock everyone of them in a room with all the "Y'all don't know what you're talking about. I've live here 30 years and never had a problem" folks.

There isnt a city in the world you cant live and escape the dysfunction.

But people shouldnt have to live confined to certain areas. And, the NO progressives are some of the most insane Ive ever met.

I am old enough to remember when a visit to Warren Easton wasn't a death sentence.

And then they kicked me out of Sam Barthe, lol.

They can put a national guardsman every five feet in the French Quarter as far as I am concerned.

New Orleans needs another flush, like Katrina.

New Orleans needs the National Guard, the Marines, and maybe even Delta Force to rescue it.

New Orleans has proven it does not have the ability to fix itself, so outside intervention is required.

The increased LSP presence seemed to help in dealing with the worst of the worst offenders. Maybe this will have a similar affect.

Louisiana needs New Orleans to not be a lost cause. Hosting superbowls, etc. will be increasingly rare if crime continues to spill over into the quarter.

I do wonder about what exactly a 20 year old NG kid is supposed to do if a legit NOLA gangbanger draws down on him. Would be interesting to see the rules of engagement.

There are few cities that are as nice to walk around in chilly weather than Uptown New Orleans. The problem is that it’s surrounded by neighborhoods of sociopathic criminals and isn’t walled off. Keep the damn criminals in jail and let the entire city be safe!!

Hell it’s like you have to live in a bubble if you live here. I’d love to be able to enjoy living in a city with the legitimately the coolest neighborhood in the US with the FQ, but I never go anymore because it’s just ratty as hell down there. You have to stay in your uptown bubble or increase your risk ten fold.

New Orleans needs 600 more cops to effectively patrol the city. It’s time to bust up the criminals and start sending them to prison. Bring in the Guard.

The federal government could block grant money to hire police in permanent positions. Sending national guard on temporary assignment and double the cost won’t make any long term change.

Put a fence around the east side and keep them there and the rest of New Orleans will be okay. As long as Democrats are in charge of the mayors office and DAs office you could have 10000 police and they still wouldn't do anything. Lawless town as it stands now.

If the police are being instructed to not protect federal property and its assets, the federal government can use anything and everything to protect said assets.

Yeah, I spent a few years with the Nasty Girls after my active-duty stint, and I can tell you the NG ain't gonna bring about a whole lotta crime reduction under these circumstances. In the aftermath of a catastrophe like a hurricane, yes, but a part-time E-4 Water Purification Specialist from Podunk, Texas isn't going to turn into Serpico when you put her on the streets of Nawlins just 'cause.

God some of ya'll overestimate the capabilities our military.

NO is exactly like the residents of NO want it to be. Same with Shreveport, same with Juneau.

I hate to see great cities falter, but the people that live there dictate their lifestyle and thats how they want it to be.
