Stalin won WW 2 and made idiots out of his enemies and rivals even though they held the keys to power. With the rise of China, Mao will probably be the more famous communist.

By greatest I’m choosing to say with leading to less life losses, Che G. He didn’t invent, Marx, that cleared the path, so argument can be made he is pretty bad. Che was dangerous antagonist compared to the murderous group

Stalin won nothing on his own. The US had to restrain Patton from going in and taking Russia. What is it about communism and its love for murdering people?

People who believe they must save the world for some reason do more harm than anyone else. The communists believed the French Revolution, the Paris Commune, and revolts in-between were unsuccessful because they did not go far enough by seizing all finance and property and eliminating class enemies. I am surprised anyone still believes in that system because it killed and enslaved more in a hundred years than any ideology I can think of.

The only reason the Germans did not take the Russians is because the Brits quit funding the Germans for they realized Germany was going to end up with Russia's tremendous resources, i.e. OIL!! After killing 10 russians for every german but losing the brit funding, the germans stagnated.
USA would have mopped up the russians, softened by the germans, with ease. Do not get me wrong, I am glad they stopped PATTON.
