It's so obvious they were helping fund these idiots, because the grass roots effort just wasn't enough.

When I was a kid - 'charity' was a person to person event - you gave what you could to someone who badly needed the help. You evaluated the need and probability of improvement. If the 'needy' person wasted the money it would be their last donation.

People were poor - final stages of Great Depression - but they were overwhelmingly honest and helpful.

This happened to the NAACP about 20-25 yrs ago. The social mandate was equal opportunity and inclusion after the pre Civil Rights Act of 1964 policies of separate but equal. In the late 90’s they had achieved most of their agenda and the leadership found themselves becoming irrelevant. FF a few yrs and insert Al Sharpton and the new mantra was abolish Racism.
