This is complete bullshite. If they have insurance they don’t haggle with the hospital. If they are an in-network provider the amounts have already been agreed upon.

How do you think they agreed on that amount? The insurance haggled and told them they aren't paying the normal billed rates.
Go talk to a Dr that owns a private practice. I know one and he told me insurance usually pays around 50% of what he bills them and he's just SOL for the remainder.

If you want to get really pissed off research what dental labs charge for the 3d printed temp dentures that your dentist charges your mother $2500 for.

That $2500 is from the itemized bill. That was the temp dentures themselves, none of the other "services".

Insurance doesn't seem to play nearly as much in the dental market and yet you have this insanity.

I'll give you a hint; It's around 10 to 12x markup.

He must of had Shitty Insurance. A friend just had a baby and total cost was $120 from the Hospital.

We have excellent insurance, and had our last baby in 2005, and our portion was several thousand dollars each time. Either you made this up or your friend isn’t being honest with you about the cost.

You worked at a hospital or had a baby at a hospital? This doesn’t make sense.

From your posting it is clear that neither you nor any baby mama associated with you has ever had a child.

We started making payments months before delivery, and for a few months after. That’s with excellent insurance.

Yeah, this is why I take issues with the govt healthcare issue. It is fricked six ways to Sunday now. The government can't really fix it properly.

IDK what the answer is, but it will likely be a massive fricking overhaul.

Why don’t you just share a hospital that you’ve worked at? We might be able to pull up their health plan and you can see how they’re paying $2500 or more.

You REALLY need to come up with new material. You Ron DeSantis obsession is clearly clouding your judgement and your ability to come up with witty insults. DeSimp? That's overused and played out. Get some new material.

I think it’s broken beyond repair. We’re all going to end up paying either $15000 or $0 to go to the doctor some day.

Its amazing how you can't read. I already linked the cost of FEP Blue Basic and Standard for delivery

Basic=$250
Standard = $0

LINK

Not to mention 4cubbies already told you she paid $0 for one of her deliveries. You didn't have excellent insurance if you paid several thousand. That's above average. Average is not excellent

I paid about $500 for each of my kids. Most recent was 5 years ago. Probably would have been better off with "worse" insurance and putting the money in savings.

Nah...Since it bothers you so much I will continue to use it. You should really get some new material instead of your Ron obsession claims considering my Ron threads are 1% of my threads

It is much more nuanced. I work for a company that had a "cash pay" option of $250. It was meant with good intentions so that everyone had access to the testing. In other words, it was meant to be the exception & not the rule as $250 didn't even cover the cost of the test. Soon, most people opted for the cash price & didn't bother with insurance. Insurance figured this out and started denying it for those that wanted it covered bc they knew of the $250 option. We went bankrupt. Good times.

You already had 4cubbies tell you she paid $0 for one of her deliveries and another poster tell you he paid $500 for his. It's not my fault you have shitty insurance.

We will note that you are declining to list a single hospital you have “worked” at. This is because you are a liar. And you may have never worked at a hospital. I think that’s highly likely.
