European tourist observations

I'm not a soccer fan but I have really enjoyed watching videos of how the Europeans are experiencing America for the first time. Most are about the food and the largess that is the American culture. There was a trend in the videos that the main stream media lied to them before they left about America and Americans. They were told we were mean and they wouldn't feel safe here . The videos that hit the hardest are the ones that remind us of what a truly blessed nation we live in. The freedom to move to anywhere in America we want and when we want. The freedom to just up and quit a job we hate to take on a new job. The videos that talk about all of our freedoms that we take for granted that are not offered anywhere else in the world. Most said that Americans are just built different. I happen to agree. Our country is exceptional. Our freedoms are unique but they will only stay that way if we fight for them. I'm wondering after watching those videos if these people will go back and affect any positive change for freedom in their countries.

I noticed that what they enjoyed the most was flyover country especially in the South.
That shouldn't surprise them. It isn't much different from Europe - negative stereotypes about France are because of Parisians while if you visit Normandy you'll have a great time.

We kicked the Brits out for our independence, but now they came to watch soccer and don't want to leave.

Thanks to the incredible men we had as our founding fathers. They gave us a Republic of laws that protect our rights from the government itself. Free people are productive people as they enjoy the fruits of their labors.
God gave us a beautiful country. We must fight to keep it free. God save our American states.

I agree. Some seem to truly get what makes our country special tho. They are the ones that tear up while looking at a sunset in the Sierra Nevadas. The ones that can't fathom why some people here hate America and talk negatively against it.

It really hasn’t been the most conveniently timed feedback for our Marxist loving lefties who really need people to believe how evil, oppressive, racist and unfair America is.

They came over here and figured out that both their respective corporate media outlets and ours have been lying to them.

We gotta give some credit to a handful of Brits that wrote the books our Founding Fathers read. They explained how govt limits freedom and prevents class mobility. Our Founders decided to put those ideas into practice and it worked.

All you said is still true. DESPITE the efforts of the pathetic green/orange haired minority that hate their lives and try to make everyone else just miserable as they are.

This right here. Rural Europe is like rural America in many ways. The people are usually very nice in my experience. Germany, France, and Austria especially.

It's easy to hate something when it's been your lifelong default. When your floor for freedom of travel, expression, occupational pursuit, etc. is the USA, those who are deeply negative and myopic will see only that it's "bad" and thus believe -childishly- that other places must therefore be "better".
They've perhaps visited some of the nicer parts of those places, but usually have never lived their long enough to be truly subjected to the reality of the place.
This is why they'll run from any attempt to point out that people risk their lives to come here both legally and illegally while hardly anyone actually leaves to become a citizen of another country (a group so statistically small as to be less than "insignificant").

I love the ones where those folks are trying Texas BBQ for the first time.
They were NOT prepared.

Agree!
What an amazing country we live in…the natural beauty, the geographical diversity, the God given resources, the opportunities, the spirit of freedom.
I’ve had the chance to see others not born here experience it and it tears me up.
It undeniable. It’s to the soul to the bone. When you feel it, you love it hard.
So much hate for it these days and as a Gen X dude that grew up so full of patriotism and joy for USA, it’s a hard pill to swallow.
America, she’s beautiful, strong and she gives us all chances to pursue happiness. Some will never appreciate what they had until they destroy it.
Also, it’s true. Being an American is a state of mind. Anyone can be American if you feel it
for what it’s intended to be and tune out the noise of the ungrateful and devious.
God bless America! May she long stand strong through it all, enemies abroad and domestic.

I can imagine them raging and gritting their teeth over it.
Makes me smile.

Ditto. This exactly describes my experiences in France.

It has been quite comical watching the international community shite all over the left’s “America Sucks” narrative.
We aren’t perfect, but the harsh reality is that we have it pretty damn good in this country. I travel internationally. People crapping on the US show their ignorance of the world.

Now think about your opinions of Europe and how they were formed.

Nobody I know has denied the abundance in America or that we can be welcoming to visitors( as long as they remain visitors, it seems)...
