Propping them up by allowing them to tax their own citizens.

So now we're telling them how to write their own tax code?

So we are telling nations how to tax their citizens?
The OECD is literally the EU telling the US how to write it's tax code. And the EU repeatedly stated that the US could face retaliatory measures if the US didn't align it's corporate tax code with the global minimum tax.
But that's different because Orange Man Bad.

So should Germany dissolve as well, because after all its a federation? Maybe dealing with NRW or Bavaria alone would be more advantageous to the US.
Should Brussels or Beijing feel entitled to negotiate trade deals with Wyoming or Michigan?

So you've conceded that retaliatory tariffs will work then. Because that was your initial argument. But i see you are moving the goalposts. It's ok, i can knock it through those too.

I get this sentiment, but doesn't relative strength of the dollar overcome at least some portion of VAT?

Trump's precious tariffs worked to bring back a few jobs at hundreds of thousands per job on that taxpayers back.
Is that "working"?

How many are a few to you? I gave you 3 links. Try counting the proposed number of jobs and get back to me.
You're spiraling. Just say it. Trump was right, you are wrong.

industrial goods......The EU has essentially shut down its industrial manufacturing due to War withe Russia shutting off nat gas, Carbon neutral policies, steel making termination. They really need plastic, metals, etc and working a good spot in the tariff discussion is expected

Possible trap! They will remove tariffs but then impose laws and fines that will impede US goods and services from being sold in Europe.
With the move to more and more censorship in European countries I am almost certain this is their play.
