I wasn't sure which board to bring this to, honestly. So I settled on the Political Talk board being that it mostly involves politics.

Over the last few years, ESPN has become increasingly more political and showing just how politically biased the ABC/Walt Disney news outlets have become.

I was scrolling through my Facebook news feed the other day and some swinging dick liberal wrote a piece for ESPN the magazine about immigrants in sports and how Trump somehow threatens the very existence of diversity in sports as a whole. I can't seem to find the damn article anymore but I'm certain that some of you have seen it.

My problem with this is a number of things, 1. I HATE the liberal narrative that somehow believing people who are dangerous or here ILLEGALLY some how deserve our compassion and should be allowed to drain our resources without contributing back to our economic prosperity. 2. I don't watch and/or read ESPN to here some slap dick sports writer's opinion on politics. I read or watch to see exactly what should be seen on a SPORTS network, frickING SPORTS.

It's so hard to go mind numb when these talking heads keep infiltrating our outlet of choice. When will sports be just sports again? This is a rhetorical question because we know this will never happen, doesn't stop me from ranting and/or melting every time this kind of shite sports journalism pops up.

Clay Travis has been talking about this for over a year how ESPN constantly is pushing an agenda and getting away from sports coverage.

They are rewarding Jemele Hill and Michael Smith their own "Conversation Based" 6pm Sportscenter. They really know their audience.

Read some of the stuff that Jemele Hill has written. Despicable leftist stuff.

That train left a few years ago. It's now just like the 24hr propaganda networks except sports focused. Talking heads and scripted debate shows.

This is one of the big reasons why their viewership is falling (the biggest is chord cutters).

I understand that they probably see it as another avenue for creating page views and ratings, but it turns me off completely. Sports is an escape for me. I deal with enough reality & BS. When I watch a game, I do it to take my mind off real world issues. I'm willing to bet that I'm not alone there. I think ESPN really underestimates that fact.

That's sort of why I despise the Rinaldi segments on Gameday. I appreciate the people he profiles, but I turn it off because that's not why I tune in on Saturday mornings.

True but their incessant attempts to preach at me when all I want is sports news, made it much easier to cut the cord.

Hell, next year, I don't think I will even get Sling or PSvue for the football season.

I think I might be permanently done with ESPN other than catching a few games on the big screen at a bar.

that cow sarah spain was on the radio lastnight and she said the reason ESPN allows them to take political stances is because they're an inclusive company or some bullshite like that. You know inclusive, provided you agree with us.

I'm not even defending Schilling because he's a clown, but they also silenced Ditka for having the audacity to say Obama wasn't a good president.

The SEC should sever all ties with ESPN and work out a deal with Fox Sports.

You are certainly not alone in that. It's what I consider going mind numb. Being able to relax and watch a game and forget about all the bull shite in the world is really hard to do when this jackasses keep trying to push their political views on the audience.

This is exactly what I'm doing. I'm about to move to a new house next week, and when I transfer my service I'm completely removing my cable subscription. Internet only.

I'm still evaluating Sling vs. Vue vs. DirectTV NOW. Mainly because I have to make sure the fiance gets all her damn chick flick channels
