the Jenner award was literally an orchestrated event that guaranteed ABC the first exclusive interview

Representatives of Caitlyn Jenner reportedly negotiated her ESPYs award in exchange for PR plugs in her upcoming TV series and threatened to pull out of her 20/20 interview.
Reports have emerged that Jenner’s team approached ESPN with the idea that she win the Arthur Ashe Courage Award just as details were being finalized for her 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC.

With all the politics and other bs making it's way into sports, my interest is dying. I just watch the games and matches for entertainment, but that's being ruined. Social media doesn't help things either. I can't take these athletes serious about their sufferings when they're making millions of dollars a year.

The Mixon video was released on a friday afternoon (the 16th) by Mixon's lawyers in hopes that it would be buried behind weekend news and the NFL playoffs. Here is a link to an espn website article saying as much TWO DAYS LATER. LINK
Sportscenter didn't weigh in on it the entire weekend. On espn.com the following Monday it was listed last on the right side of the page under "top headlines." My point was when it finally started getting airtime from the major news outlets ESPN had already moved on to their Grayson Allen is the evil white guy we should all hate campaign.
Oklahoma's president David Boren and Bob Stoops both watched the video and kept Joe Mixon on scholarship. But hey he runs fast. ESPN didn't say much at all - except to defend those second chances as you alluded to.

Took the words right out of my mouth.
College football only...except what I list below Super Bowl below.
-Super Bowl will be the 2nd pro football game I watch this year resulting from the lack of respect for the flag and anthem.
-0 basketball
-0 sissy football
-so I'm OK w/major league baseball and college baseball
-watch lady gymnastics team
Did I miss anything?

When CK of the 49'ers was making his statement, ESPN went out of its way to praise him as simply exercising his right to free speech. When Tom Brady had a MAGA hat in his locker, he was ripped on every show for being divisive in the locker room.
