I'm guessing this. If his story was true, the facts and timeline just aren't adding up.
He was "brutally attacked" by two men, yet only fractured a rib? And then the hospital released him later that same morning after this brutal attack?
Sounds like it was incredibly brutal
My guess would be that his rib was fractured somehow before this, and he realized it was a fabulous opportunity to start a conversation.

He probably was jumped and beaten, that doesnt sound that unbelievable at all. Especially with him being a celebrity walking around Chicago by himself.

The timing of the letter hasn't been verified.
Either way, dealing with a fractured rib for a few days isn't exactly agonizing. It sucks, but there isn't really anything you can do for it besides take pain medicine.
People fracture their ribs all the time and don't even seek medical attention.

Subway sandwich shops in Chicago close at 1a.m. if now earlier.
Most are in the main city (if the map above is correct) and the odds of there being stores that sell both rope and bleach at that time of night...much less ski masks to someone who has the marlinspike skills to tie the right knot........

Because that's what I do in my spare time, I walk around in a ski mask looking for gay actors so I can remind them that this is "MAGA country". Forget that this is in Chicago (
