A company as big as Google should not be allowed to interfere in elections. It’s anti-democratic. They’re a “search engine” but you can look at them as a media source and an outlet to all media sources

It is the definition of Democracy. Media sources have a First Amendment right to say - or not say - anything they want about candidates. They are only blocked by defamation laws, and whatever desire they may have to protect their own reputation with their audience.

Well, they also can't go crazy and attempt to foment violence or rebellion, but that's a different discussion.

Also the whole “use a different search engine” is a stupid argument. I’ve been using Google for 20-25 years. I’m not using a different search engine because they’re trying to undermine democracy by swaying people artificially.

It was fake news, anyway, but here's the thing:

You shouldn't be using Google anyway, for a variety of reasons. If you insist on using a search engine that is simultaneously undermining your own political beliefs then that's on you.

But my comment wasn't meant to be flippant. Since this action by Google would have been perfectly legal, your recourse is to call them out and boycott them.

More grifting by the mentally ill Elon Musk. I just did a search and what he’s saying doesn’t pop up, pops up.

Did you search for it at the time of your post here or at the time of Elon's post last night?

Ehhh. These Tech companies have gone past the toeing the line to straight up crossing the line. They have a lot of power, and can affect the democratic process. I'm no lawyer but there's for sure an angle here that makes it illegal.

If they actually affected people's ability to vote, or attempted to intimidate people into voting a certain way, then they are crossing a line.

The "Democratic Process" is based on people making their own choice at the polls. If a voter makes their choice based on bad information - or a lack of information - then that is their own fault.

I think every single US voter goes into the proverbial polling booth with a certain level of misinformation.

I only got out pres before Donald Trump pulled up to the top suggestion.

For me, it wasn’t the top at “Pres”, but was third or fourth. After completely typing out “President” and hitting space, Top 3 in order:

Donald Trump
President of Venezuela
Joe Biden

Big tech vowed they’d not let Trump win again after ‘16.

Believe them.

Musk is a self-promoting provocateur
and untrustworthy. Deep down he misses the golden days of apartheid in his native country.

So his post was before yours. Easy fix in that time.

But when I do it does come up with Donald trump and (Donald) Raegan.

So either he’s lying or they fixed it.

And democrats miss slavery. That’s why they say things like, we need these brown people to work the jobs we don’t want to.

You are espousing a false equivalency.

Dems have a laundry list of lies concerning Trump that they wholeheartedly believe.

Now, there is a laundry list of lies covering for Kamala.

You’re not lying, but you are being disingenuous.
