I guess in certain traffic conditions the ability to jump over a few vehicles could come in handy.

It would have to be an automated safety feature. Not a man on Earth would push that button in time.

Pssst.....I think Elon was just having some fun tonight, that's ok isn't it?

You only choosing these sentences to quote and respond to is very telling.

Your entire melt is based off a lie.

I haven' criticized Elon once

Well I said he looked weird, but that was the AI scam and not the real event, in case that's what's confusing you

I've been in the Plaid and the Cyberbeast which are outrageously fast so I can't imagine 0-60 in .081 seconds. The G forces hurt my head just thinking about how fast that is.

Yep. I had fun watching it as well.

If the Roadster could actually achieve sustained, controlled flight, it would legally cross the threshold from an automobile to an aircraft. Let me know when the FAA grants aircraft certification so that I can start working on my pilot's license.

There are several small personal aircraft you can own right now that don't require a pilot's license certification.

The damn thing stopped on a dime too. It's a seriously impressive car. Even the base model will do 0-60 in under 3. Or maybe it was even under 2. Can't remember off hand. Very frickin' fast, whichever it is.

Why would being right make me embarrassed?

He flat out denied that the car would lift off the ground by saying that the thrusters point up, not down. He has been blatantly lying throughout this thread because he is a flat-out liar.

Slippin' Jimmy.

If you think that technology has not been created to defy the laws of gravity you should leave the conversation. It being a sports car or a jet is irrelevant chief.

A lie

This is what I said

quote:

Supposed to be for grip on the road by using extra downforce to increase traction

The thrusters push down, not up.

That is true and Elon even commented on it tonight.

I saw an anti-gravity gun once in a cartoon.

I'm guessing these thrusters would beat the shite out of you from the sudden changes.

Please get some help.

You're saying something you don't actually mean.

It's not denying the laws of physics/gravity at all, it's using them. Gravity is a major variable in the thrust calculations.

Something would need to be anti-gravity to defy the laws.

What you mean to say is breaking the bonds of gravity.

Similar tech, less the jumping, as the Mcmurtry Spéirling unveiled a year ot so ago. Same concept.

The Speirling was actually timed on the track with real world conditions.

I bet that Roadster will be heading to a few tracks in the next few months.
