He thinks "similar tech" and "same concept" means equal production.

Well, yeah......

I'm curious how long it takes for a real production model to be driven in non-controlled conditions by third parties

The poster laughing at the acceleration difference

Without the jumping? Probably not very long if they want to put it out there.

Yeah I just mean track cars.
Humans won't be allowed to do the jumping
Tesla wouldn't even let their own humans do the jumping tonight

The FAA has restricted airspace over the facility there for the next 16 days. It sounds like they're going to be doing a lot of testing of it for a couple of weeks.

Did anyone NOT think SFP would be every 3rd post in this thread when they saw the title?
The others who rage-watched were unsurprising, too.

Configurations
– Performance: road ready, seats 2
Active aerodynamics & multi-mode suction system for next-level performance on & off the track
– Thrust: race ready, seats 2
Multi-mode suction system paired w/ rear-mounted cold-gas thrusters that enable 0–60 in <1 second
– Rocket: air ready, seats 1
Multi-mode suction system plus perimeter-mounted cold-gas thrusters supporting forward & upward acceleration plus lateral rotational movement. So...yes, it can fly
Range >300 miles
Top speed up to >230mph (Rocket)
0-60
Performance (<1.6)
Thrust (<0.9)
Rocket (<0.59)
Reserve now –
Did anyone expect that Slippin' Jimmy also wouldn't lie his frickin' arse off the entire time after his first foolish post in the thread saying it wouldn't fly? Once he said that he locked himself in on that for however long it took for everyone else to stop calling him retarded. If that thing had launched into near-Earth orbit, circled the globe, and landed back at the launch site he would have continued denying it actually flew. That's just who that guy is.

it was cool i guess but i wouldn't call it a flying car

Maybe when you're running bootlegged liquor in Hazzard County? For frick's sake. The irony in this guy with this screen name downplaying this because of who it is is like watching a frickin' Monty Python sketch unfold in real life.

That shite was badass! This is what made America great, ingenuity and free people with a vision.
Hats off to Elon and crew. Next time drawbridge is up, just boost over it. Or bridge out.
Just don’t stop behind one at a light when the driver feels racey. Might have some peeled paint

Right. Saying that the thrusters point up, not down, was him saying that it would never leave the ground due to this. He was flat wrong and instead of admit it, he has simply lied for like 13 frickin pages.
The fact that the thrusters provide acceleration both horizontally and vertically through the air is actual flight. It might only be a short flight, but it is flight.
The moral of this thread is don't ever wager anything with Slippin' Jimmy. He will not honor it because he has no honor.
