And to think she was a registered Republican while teaching financing at Harvard.

what about those of us who never went to school because we didn’t want to be upside down in debt?

Millenials also like neckbeards. Should Trump grow one?

Why would I care. Do the simple truth table.

Republican wins - implements democrat mooch pandering policy.
Democrat wins - implements democrat mooch pandering policy.

Why would I care if the "Republican" "Wins" if there is no discernible difference in policy?

Good grief.

Does she think that this will reduce the cost of education? More demand chasing a relatively smaller supply (educators) and that free education will then cost taxpayers more and the billionaires will have loopholes for exemption so the tax base will have to expand...this has 401k tax written all over it to me

No cynicism at all. I just don’t see the point of “winning” to implement the losers policy.

Actually, they are. Government takeover of student loans has caused college prices to soar dramatically. Her plan will on cause price inflation to go into overdrive.

You're not getting what I'm saying.

Warren estimates this tax would raise $2.75 trillion in revenue over 10 years, meaning her debt-forgiveness and universal education plan would cost less than half of the total revenue raised.

If revenue raised will be twice the cost of the plan (bullshite) why raise taxes this much?

What does she plan on doing with the additional revenue?

The banks got a fricking bailout. I know two wrongs don't make a right, but still, it does anger me that we privatize gains, and socialized losses on such a wide scale.

The banks paid it all back, with interest. Kinda like a loan

You get the self satisfaction of knowing that you earned your degree. Unlike those who had their debts erased or had mommy and daddy pay for it.

How on earth would this wealth be calculated? Does she think all wealth is just sitting in a liquid account?

The govt is going to value all real estate, private businesses, equipment, etc, etc?

1) Continue rewarding failure and punishing responsible students.
2) Rely on taxes from the wealthy (further punishment for success) using a static model that assumes (incorrectly) that the wealthy will just hand over their money when history shows there will always be methods to beat these taxes. Poof!

I don’t agree with forgiving debt. However, with mechanization in most industries there are fewer and fewer jobs available for those with only a high school diploma that can make a decent living.

I’m all for providing free college for CERTAIN MAJORS (ones that get you a decent job) to those that can qualify for the colleges academic requirements.

Cut some entitlements to pay for it rather than raise taxes. At least free college would have some economic benefit.

However if you want a Gender Studies degree you gotta pay to go to college. Any degree that does not on average get you at least a 50k salary would not get you free college.

And how will costs and loans be managed in the future.

Your past is past.

We can't go back and make you take engineering.

But you can retrain.
If people put attention on the overall issues, the loan % rates should come down.

Warren intends to pay for this plan, which her team estimates would cost $1.25 trillion over 10 years, this way:

Let's see:

She wants free universal healthcare

She wants to pay reparations to African Americans

She wants to universal forgiveness of student loans and college for free.

Might as well just cancel everything else in the budget to pay for that.
