Not with a 5.1 earthquake.
It will make a 10 story building sway a little, and maybe knock some shite off your shelf. Depends on what type it is though. Sometimes they feel like you're on a boat in the ocean, and sometimes they are up/down violent(much worse).
The way the scale works is that it each next level is significantly more powerful than the lower one. For example, a 5.0 is 10 times more powerful than a 4.0. Below a 4.0 it's hard to feel them IMO.
So it's when you get to a 6, 7 and 8 that they really become huge, because then a 6 is 10 times more powerful than 5, and 7 is 10 times more powerful than a 6. That means a 7.0 earth quake is 100 times more powerful than 5. An 8 is 1000 times more powerful than a 5.
Hope that makes sense. This is a nothing burger.
