Serious question...
How TF do you "test" this?

Suppose it was a Congolese Dr., would you be concerned?
So there’s no discussion in the US of “death with dignity” or “euthanasia.” Good to know. Thanks for the update.

I’ve seen ten times more dementia sufferers than you have.

Considering Australia isn't the United States, apparently not.

How is Nitschke related to Mengele?
Absolutely disgusting. What a degenerate.

The device would be sewn into a patient’s body – most likely in their leg – and set to beep and vibrate daily to warn the patient to turn it off.
we should trial this on the homeless population of Portland, Oregon

What a dystopian, anti-human nightmare! What a ghoulish bastard! Hardly. Its some dignity at the end of life. Trust me by the time you get to that point you and your family have suffered enough.
Why not just let people put their wishes in a contract with their doctor while they are at full mental capacity stating in the event they have bad dementia where they must be taken care of 24/7 that they prefer to be euthanized peacefully?
Why support a kill switch that could easily malfunction

You ever care for an advanced dementia patient...
The $10,000 per month memory care industry will fight this. I’d sign a document today to let my family do this if I got that bad.
I’ve stated many times that it would be a tragedy if I sat in the car running in the garage for a while. I’ve seen dementia up close, I don’t want that.

At what stage does of dementia should we execute people to keep them dignified?
That would be an interesting legal debate.
It would probably be when inpatient care is required and they’re bedridden.

There’s probably almost 2 million people right now who are in the late stages of dementia. You’re going to need a lot of ammo.

Our friend is in this hellish situation. Her life partner and family are all deceased, she moved to the other side of the country after Katrina, her savings have been exhausted, and she suffered a stroke last year in top of the dementia she was already experiencing. The witty, vibrant woman we knew would not want the life she is currently enduring. It feels wrong to wish for her life to end, but there is no other way her circumstances will improve.

This hyperbolic language is crap...you don't EXECUTE them.....While they are still in their right mind they CHOOSE this route. You know, as the liberals say, my body, my choice...
I ran a hospice and I can promise you putting these folks to sleep like we do our pets would be merciful. There is ZERO quality of life, or even knowing what planet you are on...the cruelty is in letting them exist in misery so family has a warm hand to hold when they stop in for a visit.
