Don't get too high or too low about Election...

Because no matter who is in power, they'll screw it up. Dems will over compensate, and not deliver what the American people really want and they'll have another 2010, 2016, 2024 - its like clockwork.
Then republicans will win and put some feckless asshat like Thune in charge of the Senate and they'll screw it up.
For 99% of people it's not really Red vs Blue, its establishment vs the people. We want a system that works together, but it will never happen as its about power and money at the top.

Sorry man, your idea of what is going to happen is simply not the way the world is anymore. This was the time for our electorate to reject hatred, and we failed.

After a few days of contemplating this is what I think happened.
Yes the Dems hate Trump and got out to vote against him. They did in 24 as well. The reason this happened was the moderates saw "Gas prices high, can't buy a house, going out to eat is expensive" and voted the party not in power.
So in 28 yes the Dems will vote against Trump and the GOP. They always do. The moderates still don't want Woke, Islam or socialism. The "MAGA ideals" are still a winning platform. The right sees this as a "We have to distance from Trump at all cost!!!!!". I don't think that is true. I think people are extremely short sighted and just didn't like how their paychecks were stretching.
After 2 years of woke craziness I think they will come back to their senses. And a Conservative candidate running on keeping taxes low, bringing jobs back to America, and common sense on social issues could absolutely win huge. People just need to take a deep breath.

Your post presupposes that the elections in 2028 and beyond will operate the same as before, which they won't. The DSA is snatching more and more power, and the party leadership knows they either give them a strong seat at the table or they get left behind.

Strong men create good times
Good times create weak men
Weak men create hard times
Hard times create strong men
Rinse, repeat.
We’re definitely in the above bolded phase of the cycle now.

Oh no, I don't suppose that at all. There was very obviously fraud in this election. It's impossible to look at the numbers and come to a different conclusion. Even if you accept the overall national result, there are elections spattered throughout the country that simply would not ever happen.

I agree.
tUSA is never gonna be a utopia. It’s hands down better than anywhere else, but the whole world is fallen.
I love my country, hate the government, and will lock arms with any fellow citizen that’ll lock arms with me—regardless of “politics”.

Whats gonna be your stance when Dems win the WH in 28 and stack the SC, outlaw the electoral college, abolish the Senate, and add a few new states (all of which are part of their stated agenda)? Will you still have a ho hum outlook or will you be even the slightest bit concerned about whats going on in the country?
If you would then welcome to 2026 because those of us who see that potential reality on the horizon are already concerned about it.

I said this lastnight,
The best thing for Jeff Landry happened on Tuesday. We now get to see our direct neighboring states being governed by the Left.
Overall as a country, the dems will focus on impeachment, subpoenas, woke crap, etc. This was not a leftwing mandate like many are thinking it is, it was a backlash against republicans not staying true to their words

In the world of political messaging today this is a toxic way to describe your movement. It is used throughout the world as a pejorative for the right side of the aisle. More than half the country agrees with the world. It is cute that Trump started it. But not anymore. If any candidate comes out and uses this term for 2028 there is no way I'll vote for them.

In the electorates of decades past, absolutely. But now, anytime the Dems control the presidency, they open up the border and allow in 10M-30M illegals in that vote monolithically for the Democrat party and reproduce much faster than native citizens. Whites are only ~55% of the American population now. We are doomed demographically, along with most of the rest of the civilized world, especially Europe (except for Poland).

Oh the Democrats will overcorrect, you can bank on that. And if they win 28, we’ll be back on the SJW and Woke train once more.

For most part I've stayed off the board since election. I think, especially this board, people get way too dramatic. Sadly, nationally people get way too dramatic after "wins and losses." The Executive in power pretty much always loses midterms. Iran didn't help, but this was mostly folks fed up with Republicans in the House and Senate, they've been worthless. I don't think it was a knock for the most part on Trump, or muh Epstein files, tariffs, etc.
Just spineless cowards on the Republican line that talk a big game and never do anything. The big "waves" come in every 2 years and constantly change sides. It's just what happens with American politics. And I'm not standing up for Trump, he's made some bonehead moves also, but I think it was more Iran, midterms going against the Executive, spineless Rs.

You are one of the short sided voters that caused this to happen. Letting feeling override logic. In your mind "Trump is the most evil person ever. So I'll vote in Islamic woke socialist!". See the flaw in your argument here?

I voted for the losers dude.

Oh, I am going to run free snarking at the dumbshits who voted for this. I have had more fun on this board than I have had in over a year. I will try not to get too high doing it.
Don't fret if you catch a stray. I can't tell who is who sometimes. You can see the same post from two diametrically different people that means the opposite of each other in context.

The new Texas House majority leader declared POC are the national majority and once all POC come together against their common oppressor they will have conquered America. Whether the 17 million new votes/voters the Dems had last week are manufactured ballots, illegals voting, or new registered voters (yeah, right), the nation is lost. I'm not too long for this world but I weep for my grandsons and trying to get my kids attention about the world they are about to live in. It's not going to be pretty.

So you are going to vote for the left because a politician used the term MAGA? It is still the same thing. feelings over logic.
