Have y'all ever stopped to think why more people haven't been prosecuted over memes and why it was just that guy? Could it possibly be because it wasn't just about a meme no matter how much you try to trivialize it?

In a total vacuum, possibly, and it's a weak possibly.

In this environment where the left is gleefully using lawfare to punish its enemies, they don't get the benefit of the doubt from me. They shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt from any reasonable person. When backed into a corner you'll claim you don't like unequal protection under the law, but you sure as hell defend all the individual cases of it.

Whataboutism
Is that the new legal term for unblinded justice, or for the uneven meting of justice based on partisanship?

It absolutely is what happened. They were meeting with Biden officials prior to writing the letter and got their talking points directly from the Regime. Garland sicked the FBI on concerned parents and the only reason they backed down was because their scheme was exposed.

You commies also hatched a scheme to spy on the Catholic Church but that plan was foiled too.

"bother?" ... no, we've seen the police state coming a long way off. And here's a spoiler, it will get worse.

But I have no intention of being arrested by these JBT and I know where I'm going when I'm done here. So to the dems and their JBT I say: your move skidmark.

They won’t put you in jail, they’ll just send the FBI in, and kill you

Whataboutism isn't a very strong rhetoric device, despite its recent popularity.

What's weak is calling the identification of double standards "whataboutism." I don't know who told the left that just saying "whataboutism" is a magic talisman against hypocrisy, but they were wrong.

No, it is not. Threatening to kill someone and target their families is not the exact same thing as someone talking shite. Not even close.
Except, that is exactly what she does. She has done it in the past. TTBOMK, she's never acted on her shite talking.

I'm not justifying her behavior in the least, but I sure as HELL put it on a different level than protests at SCOTUS homes, or an assassin going after Kav.

Play stupid fricking games.

What are you talking about with Danielson? Guy was in Portland when groups got mad and went at each other. There weren’t premeditated threats, he was in the wrong place, wrong time. And guess what:
You're poorly informed on this.

And if she recuses, who are you going to find that is impartial in this?
We could start with someone who's not lamented DJT not being in jail already. She's a partisan hack.

Speculative.

What did happen was that dozens of state attorney generals and numerous representatives called this ruckus to the carpet and blew it open. And that is what you want to see, this kind of bullshite get called out when people don’t even attempt to control their basest instincts.

Exact same arguments ITT trying to claim Trump was just speaking, when the indictments involve a LOT of other stuff which are the real backbones of the indictments (regardless of the chances of success on the merits). It's not about Trump's words/speech much at all.

In that regard, you and some of your bright fellow lawyers (Dershowitz, Turley, etc.) disagree.

You serious? This board for example anytime someone mentioned how Trump or one of his circle did something similar to whatever was in the news about a Dem over the last 7-8 years.

Possibly so.

She’s absolutely a partisan hack, but there are no impartial referees. I wouldn’t care if she were removed and another judge appointed. I want a fair trial in all of this.

No, there are not. There’s one email that requests information, and that’s it! It doesn’t explicitly state, “Give me information to lock these parents up!” or anything of the sort. The email requests information AFTER NASB reached out.

Under questioning from House Judiciary Committee ranking member Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) Thursday, Garland denied that anyone from the White House had spoken to him about the NSBA letter, but added, “I am sure — at least, I certainly would believe that the White House communicated its concerns about the letter to the Justice Department.”

When Jordan asked whether Garland or anyone at the Justice Department discussed his Oct. 4 memo with anyone at the White House, the attorney general answered: “I did not. I don’t know whether anyone discussed the memo. I am sure that the communication from the National Association of School Boards was discussed between the White House and the Justice Department

Yeah, they discussed it. Cordona requested information, NASB reached out to Biden, Garland put FBI in school board meetings, tons of people called foul.

Even with all of that, there’s zero evidence that there was a conspiracy by the administration or DOJ to lock parents up on false charges of domestic terrorism. At worst, there’s fact finding on a bullshite allegation, and all of it got called to the carpet and NASB had to crawfish like the bitches they are.

The issue is perception, as it is with the 2020 election. In a circumstance where a partisan hack laments from her bench that Trump is free, the perception could scarcely be worse.

This is the email:

quote:

Hi Marnie

I would love to talk with you about the letter when we are all together this weekend.

At the time, no, I didn't think the letter fell under an emergency situation, it certainly was not characterized that way when Chip told the officers he was writing a letter to provide information to
the White House, from a request by Secretary Cordona.

To my understanding, NASB reached out to the White House, and it was then that Cordona and Garland got involved. If I’m wrong, I will listen to that.
