No, I doubt his dosage was any different than what would be in his system on any other day.

But the interactions he had with law enforcement as a result of his bad decisions likely would have killed him even without the knee. His body was just accustomed to passing out and people leaving him alone. That dosage combined with some cardio work seems to be the pattern outside of the norm.

I think everyone who dies during an arrest wouldn't have died if they weren't arrested that day.

He was arrested for a legitimate reason.

He swallowed his stash of fentanyl to avoid being caught with drugs while being arrested for a legitimate reason.

Then, he resisted arrest, and the officers deployed universally taught and practiced restraint techniques to get him under control, during which time he died of the fentanyl overdose.

...

I'm not sure what the point of your thread is or if this is a "gotcha", but the full context absolutely matters and you can't just cherry pick one little question and omit the secondary and tertiary details and remain genuine. Derek Chauvin and the other officers got railroaded because black people were going to literally burn America to the ground if someone other than George Floyd didn't pay for the crimes George Floyd committed. This was 100% on Saint Floyd of Fentanyl, and the cops just did their damn jobs.

The media was searching for incidents like this to exploit and fire up the mobs.

Knee to the back of the neck does not prevent you from breathing.

From what I remember of the video, Floyd required the treatment he received.

He refused to cooperate.

Criminals don't get the privilege of dictating the terms and conditions of their arrest.

100% yes, overdose doesn't care if you're being taken into custody or not.

His lifestyle was not conducive to surviving much longer. 46 years old, overweight, using fentanyl and probably other drugs, and in constant trouble with the law. He would not have made it to 50 for sure.

Yes. He died because he swallowed all his drugs to hide them from the cops. He was dying which is why he was acting all whacked out and needed to be restrained

People with heart disease and an enlarged heart that take meth and fentanyl at the same time are liable to die at just about any time

Would George Floyd have died that day if he hadn’t passed counterfeit bills and didn’t have a belly full of fentanyl?

If he had eaten that same amount of fentanyl-tainted whatever, yes......he would have been dead as hell no matter where he was.

That said, if we had real justice in this country, on the day he died George Floyd would have been safe, sound, and alive in prison. He was a multi-time violent felon career criminal. The pregnant woman whose door he kicked in and pistol whipped got no justice when he was given the bullshite five year sentence for armed robbery home invasion. Five years! His black privilege bailed him out on that one.

What about Austin Metcalf? If Karmelo doesn’t go to that track meet would Austin still be alive? How many people would be alive if 13% of our population don’t commit 60% of the murders?

A criminal is dead, he has no more victims! Who cares?
