Its called backtracking.

Regardless, I believe he will change his mind and cogently explain why.

He said he was "voting to make it longer"

There's nothing else that does that besides Amendment 4, which was specifically what he was asked about in the question.

He specifically used the words "I am voting to"...his words, and there's nothing else to vote on.

Again, he could clarify right now. He has not.

I hope he does.

Ultimately again I only care about the SpCrt, but he could have handled this better, and Soros specifically did this to force him into this trap, which he blundered into

He said he'll be voting for something that won't be on the ballot. Opposing Amendment 4 should be the easiest thing ever for him. He can still hold his middle ground position and explain simply that Amendment 4 is a far left abortion position that has to be defeated.

Instead he helped confuse voters and broke the united front that Republicans had built.

I agree with you, but the specific issue HERE is specifically a state amendment, in the state where he votes. Its a horrific Amendment that was written and supported by Soros. It enshrines as a right in the Florida Constitution NO restrictions on abortion at all, and tax payer assistance to get abortions.

Exactly it was a trap by the left to bait him

Why do conservatives want him to lose an election to please them and say ban abortions?

They plan on losing and challenging the results in court. Then mass fundraising.

Fundraising against the party in office has proven to be more lucrative for politicians pockets than having to wake up everyday and do an actual job.

The people who wrote the bill were very very very good, I must admit.

I wouldn't even say that. They figured out "health of the mother" a long time ago, because they know it's wide open but that voters will inject their idea of health, which is by definition reasonable (to them), which means the amendment is reasonable. It's smart on their part but it's not new.

A bigger mystery is why anybody would attempt to deny that once it's been explained to them.

Ultimately I believe he will do this. He bungled the answer and fell into the trap, but I think he will rally and cogently explain an opposition to this that helps the Amendment fail.

Corey Lewandowski is very good at what he does and he will get this on track.

Yes. Some polling came out in Florida that showed of those people who supported it, when explained what is ACTUALLY in the bill, a huge percentage of those people changed their minds.

Opposition voices need to do a much better job of explaining it.

And look, that is NOT Trump's ultimate responsibility.

If Amemdment 4 passes, that is a failure for Desantis imo, not Trump.

We are either a moral nation, or we aren't. If we aren't, then it's fine with me if we speed up the move to the end of the nation.

Abortion is murder. I will not compromise on this stance. It is fine for it to be left in on the hands of the states. It is not fine to advocate for it in every state.

Exactly. He has to appeal to more than the radical elements of the conservative party but more than that, Trump isn't a hardcore conservative and has never been one nor have any of his policies pointed to him being a hardcore conservative.

He was a registered Democrat for most of his life. On social issues, he is liberal. On financial issues he is conservative. On protecting the country he is hardcore conservative minus the need to start a war everywhere to fund the MIC. He is an old school moderate democrat but the left wing loons have shifted the party so far to the left, it turned Trump into a middle of the road Republican.

The idea that your nominee has to believe every single thing you do is fricking wrong. Sack up. Grow a pair and stop getting your panties in a wad every time Trump says something that agitates the far right. If they would rather a 9 month abortion liberal over Trump thinking 6 weeks isn't long enough then they are fricking morons. If they don't want IVF paid for with government money, then go ahead and elect a liberal who will make IVF paid for along with abortion, sex changes for kids and creating the first transexual dolphin with 4 asses.

Conservatives are just continually going along with MAGA and taking punches to the gut repeatedly.

It’s a close race, and Kamala and Trump are both making outrageous proposals in order to win the few independents in the center. Neither one is going to put an across the board tariff or fix grocery prices.

Because conservatives are weak and behind the times. It’s like they want to hand the election to Kameltoe.

My concern with Trump remains what is always has been... he is a life long east coast left of center moderate, but for three years he governed fairly conservatively. He reduced regulation, cut taxes and was business friendly.

Then 2020, and he spent like a drunken sailor. He wanted CARES to be bigger. He wanted bigger stimulus. He put out an EO for more UI payments after congress stripped them out of the 2nd covid bill. Now he wants to pay for IVF and build federal cities.

My concern is his second term will see a drastic surge in new federal spending. I would not be surprised to see him start pushing for UBI. I don't trust him to reign anything in.
