I got a PM to change the thread title. It's taken directly from the Tweet
"An Eastern European Official has told the German Newspaper, BILD, that discussions are ongoing in regards to the withdrawal of U.S. Troops from all Countries in Europe that joined the NATO Alliance after 1990, which is reported to have been one of the Goals of recent Negotiations between Russia and the United States. This would include Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Sweden. Additionally, preparations are said to be ongoing in Italy, for the possible withdrawal of U.S. Forces from Kosovo."

As much as I love this, that region of the world has been in chaos for thousands of years. We have been the only calming presence. We should have done a better job as forcing them to pay vs investing is socialist programs.

We did not want Russian troops in Cuba.
Why would Russia want US troops in Eastern Europe.

When President Trump said NATO must pay 5% the writing on the wall for NATO withdrawal could be seen. Pete Hegseth talking about focusing on our Hemisphere and China is another sign.

This is only to establish a buffer zone that should have been established years ago. America would never allow Russian or Chinese troops to be based across the Rio Grande and the Russians feel the same.
There is no real downside to this as it gives Russia breathing room and all NATO members are still covered under Article V.
Most of the countries will complain because with deployment of US troops comes lots of money to support them and in the troops spending their money locally.

I'm not opposed to it as I'm tired of staffing and bankrolling Europe's security force. But this is certainly a huge benefit to Russias interests. What are they conceding to us in negotiations? It's gotta be something more than "ok we'll end military aggression against Ukraine, keep the territory we conquered and promise we won't do it again." That'd be pretty lopsided in their favor. They're getting a little too cushy with China in an allyship meant to undercut the US. Let's bargain with that.

You didn't learn how to make a non-misleading thread title. The post you linked does not say "from Europe" like the troops would be removed from Europe entirely.
It says "from all Countries in Europe that joined the NATO Alliance after 1990."
Those troops would likely be relocated to other NATO members in Europe.
You just can't help yourself...

Are you retarded? We forced them to do that with Biden/Nuland Deepstate policy of destroying Russia and break them up into small pieces.

The U.S. troops will remain in Europe but just in other NATO countries. The mutual defense feature (Article 5) in the NATO agreement remains unchanged.

The issue is that the Poles and mostly Eastern European countries (not all) have been making the NATO mark on defense spending that the UK, Germany, France, Belgium, etc., have not, forever. They're at least trying, and have not mis-understood the threat from both the EU and Russia. The Poles at least have repeatedly offered to build and maintain all kinds of our shite. They would gladly take every asset we've got in Germany and probably hook them up with living quarters and conjugal visits from Polish and Ukranian women. If we asked them to pay for 50% of the ammo we expend on Polish ranges, they'd probably pay it.

Poland spends a higher % of its GDP on military than we do. The poles are great allies
Both Poland and Romanian either have or plan to build and maintain military bases for us.

I've not read nor heard any American nor European official say what Putin claims.
And since when do you trust anything KGB agent Putin says?

So you agree with me that they're getting too cushy with China. Thanks. What do we do to snuff that out? That can be built into negotiations.

They're the ones who are likely doing their part.
It's the original members who have gotten fat and lazy. I would leave those countries first.
