Because it’s a trite talking point. They were the same before Trump was elected and re-elected. Attempting to take out the regime is a change in policy. Maybe a needed change, maybe not, but you can’t just ignore that it was a change, which is what the talking point is attempting to do.

Agree. I’m anti-interventionist, but I’ve also read Thucydides cover to cover more times than I can count—and it’s just as true today as it was thousands of years ago.
I’m holding off on forming a firm opinion until this plays out.
If Trump pulls off what I think he’s attempting, it could mark one of the most significant geopolitical shifts since the end of World War I—potentially putting the U.S. in its strongest global position since that era.
If he doesn’t… it’s hard to predict what we’re looking at.
For now, I’m taking a wait-and-see approach. It’s really all you can do.

Exposing spying on citizens is one thing... government fraud and waste.. slush fund for sexual deviants... those are whistleblower topics, they deal with actual wrongs.
Disagreeing on policy is just that- disagreeing.
At the heart of his letter, he simply, if vehemently, disagrees with Trump's policy concerning Israel and Iran. That is NOT whistleblowing.
