Good. I hope we have a good strong field this time around

The strength of the field does not matter one bit. What matters is who trump endorses because whomever gets that automatically gets 30-35% of R electorate marching in lockstep no matter how unqualified or bad the candidate is.

This is about common sense. He had one shot in the short term, in 2024, and he got a scorched earth campaign run against him.

He does not have a shot in 2028 because Trump will choose his successor

That is basic common sense. He should sit it out, see how the future plays out, maybe run for Senate in the future or serve in the Cabinet if one of them wins.

To be clear, he would be better than Vance by a long shot, and on par with Rubio. He just won't win, and he knows that I hope.

or SecState - those 3 should fill out POTUS/VP/SecState in some order - almost any order would be fine.

I would be extremely happy with a Vance/Rubio/Desantis P/VP/State even if Vance is the weakest of the 3.

That would be extremely formidable.

I would prefer Vance as President, DeSantis as VP, and Rubio at Secretary of State because Vance is by far the most charismatic and likeable of the 3. DeSantis is the most skilled administrator, and Rubio is the best diplomat. Everyone gets to play to their strengths.

Rubio doesn't need a Fla Gov on the ticket

That's why I said it's HIS best hope - not that Rubio should do it...I certainly don't want him in either seat.

This is the way. Would the dream team of absolute competence.

The same tech under a different brand name?

But he sucks Israel dick pretty hard, so he's likely a favorite over JD "You Have No Friends But Us" Vance.

My guess is that Desantis, Vance, and Rubio will all run, that Vance or Rubio will win the nomination

As it stands right now, Desantis has the best chance in the general election IMO because everyone knows he's done a great job as governor and Vance and Rubio (to a lesser extent) are going to be dragged down by Trump's low approval ratings. If Vance has any presidential aspirations, then he better hope that Trump gets the Iran shite resolved, gas prices back down, and reigns in all this deficit spending.

Florida and Ron is my Gov

The goat Gov of all time. He chose poorly when he decided to run in 2024 ans should have waited till 2028

How anyone can deny that fact is just lulz

Many people are being fooled by Rubio. Some of you are so gullible.

He has to win the primary first and primary voters will just vote for whoever Trump tells them to vote for. Letlow and Graham being the two main examples.

If Trump was so unpopular with primary voters in the GOP, his endorsements wouldn’t be batting 198/200 in primaries. Trump will be the kingmaker in the GOP Presidential Primary. I just hope that it isn’t overly bloody so everyone can come together and run a competent campaign in the general against whatever lunatic the democrats prop up.

Both are from Florida, I’d see DeSantis more with Vance if anything.

Would he a great candidate? Hell yes.

Will he run if neither Vance or Rubio get tarnished down the stretch? Probably not.

Could he end up VP? Yeah.

Is he the favorite for VP? Probably not (Rubio)

Is he too damn effective to be sitting on the sidelines for four years? Absolutely.

The decision he made, the results of that meant four more years as the Gov we needed. So I’m happy

The dumbest thing Ron did was run for POTUS in 2024. He was on track for VP which would have made him the candidate in 2028. He has spent the last 2 years rehabbing that decision, much to Florida’s benefit.

The second dumbest thing he could do is run against Vance in 2028. If he does so, he will be embarrassed and I’m pretty sure that will usher his political career to a definitive end.

More importantly though, I cannot fathom how some of you are so stupid you think this is a good idea for him to run..
