Ron DeSantis is bound for higher office at some point.
I believe he would be 100% correct on not challenging Trump for 2024. It would serve nothing but fodder the Democrats eagerly want. There is zero reason to bloody your nose for a defeat. Trump will win the nomination for 2024 barring Democrats pulling something to prevent it.
DeSantis jumps on board in some capacity or waits for 2028. Personally, I believe ticketing with Trump would give him easy path for 2028 and 2032.
He is definitely number 2 in popularity behind Trump.
