I would argue that the democrats have nothing of substance to hang their hat on. Their only significant piece of legislation in the last decade has been a disaster, they ran an unsuccessful populist in the last election, and they have no ideas within the sphere of policy.

I hate the path the current political discourse has taken.
It was so much better in the early part of the millennium, when a drunk Trent Lott could pontificate how America would have been so much better off if it had followed Mississippi's lead and voted for Strom Thurmond for President. He had the decency to apologize for his crass remark. Trump can insult and offend everyone and he'll NEVER apologize.
