No so what does that tell you? It the fact that their side isn’t winning that causes them to use violence, not the message

Possibly, They hate Republicans and find them evil. It started with W. He was branded an evil war criminal. Chaney, McCain, and Romney were deemed evil. [the evil turned to adoration when they came out against Trump] They attacked Palin, and didn’t support her as a potential female VP. Rubio, Haley, and Ron D were all villainized. Scalise was shot 5mos into the Trump presidency. The media has vilified Republicans for decades and social media has fueled the hatred.

Umm, yeah. DJT is the divisive one. We can tell by the way he has had the alphabet agencies, the alphabet people, activist judges, DA's and 90% of the media lobbing mortars at him for 10 years.

Him living in duck and cover mode is causing the divide.

People hate people today simply over their refusal to call a man a woman or a woman a man, or a human a giraffe.

Trump isn’t driving this. Insanity is driving this. Grow thicker skin, learn how to actually BE tolerant rather than just espouse it only, and embrace freedom and liberty. Be an actual American.

CK was in line to be President.

If CK was in line it was a long line. This wasn’t to keep CK out of the presidency. No one thinks like that. If you had a veto who would you keep out of the democrat nomination in 2036? It’s not that you could not come up with a name; it’s just that it’s not exactly top of mind.

Your reply has not moved the needle. You are naïve to think that their leadership is not thinking strategically.

I can give you a name and the name is Gavin Newsom. He’s such a slimeball politician and has so much power behind him that he is definitely a threat.

He would unleash the demons. He would be my choice. For removal. Non-violently.

We can win without violence. Our ideas are pure so we can win people over to our side with ideas. We don’t need violence. They do.

The day Trump announced the Left hated him.
He was on the view they liked him he was on Fallon getting his flair rubbed based a hit tv show he was a cool. Throw a R in front of his name and like a light switch the hate just turned on.

But people on here are quick to bash Dave. Even the people on here don't read or research. As bad as the media.

And why do they hate Trump so much, Dave?

C'mon, you know why. They hate him, because for close to 10 years now the corrupt news media in this country have been TOLD to hate him. Prior to him running for President, Trump was a very popular figure.

Now, people either love him or absolutely loathe him. They act as if he's satan himself. Does he have a big mouth? Yes. Is he crass at times? Yes.

Does that make him literally Hitler? Only in the minds of the corrupt news media and the sheep that eat every vitriolic word like grass in an Irish countryside.

I haven’t (edit HAVE) disliked that tool from the moment he came on the scene. Ignore him completely.

Trump hatred is just effective marketing.

Sad how many people allow themselves to be manipulated.

The Leftist view is basically the view of a husband who beats his wife:

I only beat her when she doesn't do what I say, so, when I beat her, it's her fault.

I agree.

I am no special pleader for Portnoy but I don’t understand why this comment is remotely controversial, especially with the qualifier that Trump is not to blame:

“When I say Trump has a huge part in it, I don't necessarily mean he's to blame for it, but he's so divisive...”

Observing that Trump is divisive is an objective observation, not a subjective value judgement.

I indeed voted for Trump exactly because he was divisive figure — at least to the reigning political establishment in D.C.

Indeed, Trump’s most enduring strength is he makes enemies in all the right places.

Very well stated, and I believe it’s a huge factor.
